Found a 6 pound mirror table runner in Mom's attic - 3 12x12 sections. How on earth do I ship safely? Still in original Tight fitting box.

lots of buble wrap,
I would suggest going to a tile store.
ask for empty boxes of 12X12 tile,
they fit 10 tiles,
so if youi wrap each mirror in bubble wrap you should be able to fit 3 of them into one box.

then put that box into bigger one with lots of peanuts packed really tight,
nothing better comes to mind.

Mirrors are tough to ship.
And if it breaks, it will reflect badly on you.

I would not have them ""lay flat "" when you ship them, even tho you have put lots of bubble wrap around them,
they should be in a """upright position""", with lots of bubble wrap on all four sides of each one and you may want to put each one wraped in sturdy card baord and also placed in a bigger box with lots of cusion, you should be safe then. Mark on the box "" this side up "" on all of the side. Can't hurt, as I have done that when shipping china and has made it there in one peice.

Good luck.

I agree, I would definitely put each mirror wrapped in bubblewrap in it's own box, than stacked with popcorn in between each box, placed in a bigger box. Bubblewrap won't stop the force of an impact. But the popcorn and cardboard box should.

wrightsracing has the right idea. Put at least a double layer of bubblewrap on & then tape a piece of cardboard on each side. Then I would take the three of them & tape them together very tightly. Go to a carpet store & get some foam underpadding. cut to fit & put a piece on the top & bottomwith lots of peanuts under & over the pkg. I don't believe in putting this side up on a box. I have watched them load boxes & they load to fit the space. Remember that you must pack everything tightly so it can't shift. I sell mainly breakables & if something breaks, its my fault, I didn't do a good enough job of packing.
