Excuse my ignorance but what is this for an area? FPO AP 96379-3529 ???? I am assuming it is a military base area, but why is there no state? How do I enter something like this into the USPS website to get a total for shipping? I hate to ask the customer because I will look ignorant and you guys are used to ignorance!!! HA! Just kidding1 Help!

Why don't you email the buyer and ask them. They should beable to tell you. Often I have asked either Canadian or Foreign buyers if they know a better way to ship something so I don't think your buyer would object to ask him where he was stationed. eBay sellers can't know everything

That's a military address for someone overseas. Just enter the zip code and it will give you a rate. The zip you showed is for either Oakland or San Francisco, and that is where you will ship to. The Military handles it from there. You cannot use delivery confirmation with an APO or FPO.

The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

I put the zip in and it did give me a rate. I wish now I had just shipped it free. I already sent the amount and she is PayPaling it. Seems strange (unusual, another world-like) to think with all the world strife someone in the service is sitting at a computer shopping Ebay and buying a butterfly wing necklace. I'm glad they have access to computers and can think about something frivolous for awhile.

I get the APO addresses about once a month.

Tip: All of these addresses are treated as foreign countries because the base may be on foreign soil. Therefore you MUST fill out a custom slip on each of piece of mail bigger than a regular letter ( the small green slip for packages under 4 pounds and the large white slip for packages over 4 pounds ).

APO/FPO addresses I have found to be even more problematical than plain ole everyday foreign addresses!

The PO has a page you have to look at &, dependin on the zip-code, follow some very bizarre customs regs!

Look it up under POSTAL EXPLORER & you'll be amazed! Also, (I THINK) the white form has to be used with INTERNATIONAL PARCEL POST

So confusing...

Keep in mind (and put it in your description) that if you are shipping something by UPS ground, it cannot go to:
a post office box (must be a street address)
Alaska
Hawaii
an APO or FPO address.

She is in Okinawa Japan. I snuck a peek at what she buys. Sesame Street hooked rug kits. Seems quite a contrast from what she bought from me! I talked to her and she seems really nice. I am always in awe that women are in the service. It is something that I don't have the personal or physical strength for. I won't worry about the customs forms. The girls at the post office will figure it out for me. I treat them really well at Xmas and they like to see me come in!
