I recieved this email today:
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hello!
My name is xxxx xxx and I am contacting you regarding your eBay ID. This ID and feedback profile definitely caught my attention and I would like to know if you're interested in parting with it, for a sum of money.
Please email me back at your convenience as I would definitely like to speak business with you. Almost any payment method can be made, as soon as you'd like. Please email me for more info or with any other questions you may have.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I doubt I would sell mine ,but I was wondering is it legal to sell your ID and feedback? If so how much is it worth? My feedback is 2364 positives, 2040 unique, 10 neutrals, 3 converted, and 7 negatives.

If you sell your Ebay ID, it becomes a lie. The feedback was about you and and your preformance, not the new seller.
I doubt very seriously that Ebay woud allow it, and would likely NARU you and the buyer.
You have the added problem of Ebay possibly holding you legally and financially responsible for the new person's activities. What if the new person activities are dishonest and they want to use all your positive feedback to dupe buyers into trusting them into paying for a few expensive items, not ship anything, then move on.
Anyone can honestly sell and build feedback from zero. No need to pretend to be someone else. Sounds (smells?) very fishy to me.

There have been several threads here about the legality of selling one's ebay user ID and the consensus has always been that it is a legit move to sell one's user ID.
I have seen many user IDs with feedback ratings in the 3,000's with no negatives. I think the person in the letter may have been more interested in possibly a catchy user ID name than a user ID with 7 active neutral and 7 negative feedbacks.

Legal or not it would be tricky. All of your info would have to be changed and either the buyer would trust you with his information to change it or you'd have to trust him with your password and information. I dunno. Then you'd have to start all over fron zero if you didn't already have a second ID.
Just as a point of curiousity, how much do you think your ID is worth?

This is an interesting topic, I don't think I would do it, I think the potential problems outweigh the financial gain.

Not a good idea. This is used as a front for a large scale scam. Person gets hold of "false" id and feedback. launches a lot of higher priced items and takes the buyers for a quick buck then abanonds the id after leaving it with false information. then e-bay has to get involved with the scam and guess who the id is traced to. thats right you ! and yes you could be held partially liable for any fraud damages. This isn't the first time I have seen or heard of this scam front. of course there is the off chance it is for legitamte reasons but not worth the chance in my opinion.

Like I said I doubt that I would sell my Id and feedback. It took me close to 5 years to build it up and I have many repeat customers that buy from me. Fact is I have 3 buyers that have won over 100 auctions each and none of these are reflected in feedback as they don't bother leaving it.
I think it is probably the ID that they want not that 7 negatives is bad with 2364 positives. I think a good ID that fits what you sell would probably be worth at least $2,500.00
When things were good at flea markets years ago I paid $1,000.00 for a dealer to move out so I could rent his booth.

According to eBay's rules you can not just sell your ebay ID and FB, however, you can sell your business and include the eBay ID and FB with the business.
Changing the account would not be that hard to do. Just go in and change names and addresses for contact and payments. Wait until the new information is in place and then give the buyer the passwrod.

If it is just the name they want, you could sell it to them. Then change it to something else on ebay and make them wait the 30 days for it to become available. Or did ebay change it so that wouldn't work anymore?

Selling of your Ebay ID and Feedback is against Ebay Policy. It all stems from a case were person who was suspendend from Ebay bought the user ID of the biggest Beanie baby seller on Ebay. He used the ID to scam hunderds of thousands of dollars selling gold bullion coins. Ebay was out thousands in commissions and insurance claims. So you know how fast the rules changed about selling your ID.
