I decided to try out AW becasue I am under the impression that I don't have to deal with excessive fees from ebay on product that doesn't get winning bids.

Hopefully someone will clarify this and I can cease to stand in front of a mirror looking stupid. . . . . .

I don't know where you got your information, but the fees from eBay are the same on AW as anywhere else. The fees are set by eBay, not by AW.

We who use AW to launch on Ebay still think it's worth the little bit of extra expense. AW's launching mechanism is simpler to use, and the page with all our items, number of lookers, number of bids, current price, etc., is infinitely superior to eBay's equivalent - easier to grasp and understand quickly.

I know there are eBayers who won't use AW because they resent any extra costs. . . . AW is my drug of choice, I must say!

thanks sanmar,

sure, i'll admit to being a rookie seller. I also have to admit to my superiors that I am at a loss as to why I spent x $$ per month in listing/FVF fees for such little return.

One last thing to admit here: A "flat-fee" service. A pipe dream, I'm ever more sure as the minutes pass.

If you're spending mucho bucks on fees with little return, your pricing is wrong.

The more you feel the need to protect your item (with a high starting bid and/or reserve), the more it will cost you.

On the other hand, the day is long past when running 1 cent no-reserve auctions was a big risk. If you're liquidating merchandise, it's definitely the way to go.

Perhaps you can convince your bosses to let you run a few 1 cent auctions and gauge the results.

I ran almost 2000 auctions using just ebay's Misterlister program. It worked fine for me until I began selling items that needed more photos than Ebay allows.

I went through some of my favorite sellers auctions and noticed the pattern of AW pages and decided to give it a try!

I listed LOTS of items during the 2-week free trial and must admit I LOVE the results! The photos can be enlarged to show great detail and I can have 20 or more photos per auction, if necessary.

I find the money I used to spend at Ebay on extra photos ($0.15 per for 5 additional = $0.75) goes to pay for my AW flat rate account.

It's DEFINITELY worth it in my book and has transformed my listings into extraordinary masterpieces. Okay, I'm exaggerating but you're going to spend the money somewhere!

Just the two cents Ebay hasn't gotten yet...

yes, fluffy. Item protection is key here. I have to justify the ammount of time I put into auctions. Making a buck or two here and there is no justification for "dumping" inventory just to make a sale.

If i were going to different motorcycle shops and buying inventory at 10 or 15 cents on the retail dollar, I wouldn't be complaining about a $50.00 item selling for 10 or 12 dollars.

BTW, One of my cats are also named Fluffy

Thanks agin for the help
