Just got an email from a customer that he had not received his package. Checked the tracking number and FedEx says it was delivered 5 days ago. I did the check signature thing and there is an HT scrawled on there like a 5 year old signed it and the customer's name is FS.

I will make signature confirmation a requirement on ALL the packages shipped from here on, especially this time of the year!

On the other hand (I promise I will NOT start another new topic today!)

I wish I had Kitchenaid Stand mixers or Garmin GPS to sell on Ebay right now. They are blowing out the door on Ebay and I need one of each for christmas. As soon as a decent price one hits Ebay with a BIN it's GONE!

I don't get it. How can you possibly be responsible for who signs for a package?

I realize this is the age of non-responsibility, but I feel that if a package is delivered to the right address, that's the end of it.

Here Here Fluffy - totally agree, I've had same experience - buyers child signed, opened the package and used the prints for drawing paper till dad found out.

Just give them this info and ask them to check with family members. They can confirm with fedex. You have proof of shipping.

email from buyer:
"I am sorry to have bothered you, my son recieved the package and forgot to tell me it arrived thanks and you will recieve positive feedback.
Merry Christmas Fred "

HOW a package can sit around for 5 days and nobody bothers to mention it or see it is beyond me.
Then again...he might have an "Ebay" house.

Glad it worked out for you. Once it is delivered and there is proof of that, end of story from a seller's perspective. Their claim would be with FedEx or UPS, not me.

I had someone ask me about an expensive item last year. The tracking showed it was delivered. Turned out the dimwit forgot to give me his apartment number. How do they think they are going to get something if they don't give you the full address? He just had to go to the apt office and get it.

I had the same thing....a girl forgot to put her apt number on it, media mail package so it tooks over a month to make it's way across the country and back. I put in my winning bidder notice that if they do not fill out the address themselves in AW, I will not be responsible for the package or where it goes. I don't mind cutting and pasting if they use PP, that's usually a confirmed address.

The same way it takes two weeks for me to get a phone message - I have a teenage son!
