Quick question? Are Canadian postal money orders a good option. Can our Northern neighbors get them denominated in REAL US Dollars, and can they be cashed at our post offices, like the Japanese ones.
.
.If not, what other payment options would you suggest for a newbie from Canada(just my luck).

Yes, Canadian Postal Money Orders can be purchased in US dollars. They are pink and have to be cashed at the post office. I have seen comments about pink and green money orders. Apparently the green ones are international and can be cashed at the bank but the pink ones don't have the right code at the bottom for the bank to be able to cash them. My thanks to an understanding Canadian buyer to whom I returned a pink one. He told me to take it to the post office. Duh! It said Postal - I should have thought of that. I always get money orders at my bank so just didn't associate the post office with money orders in any way.

They are as good as cash![international] It costs you nothing to cash them at the post office.
I would trust one of those a lot more than a paypal payment as you are protected.

I just got one of those pink Canada Post money orders today. What happens if I just take it to the bank? I don't like cashing money orders at the post office but I can if I have to.

take it to your bank and ask if there is any fee in collecting the fund for you, dont let them surprise you.
if you take to post office, dont forget to bring your photo id.
