regardless of what you assume, everyone does not watch football!!!!

why does someone ask this silly question at every little event or holiday?

I thought this board was for people to come and ask questions and get help WITHOUT being chastised or criticized?

There are no silly or stupid questions - just ones with no answers

SORRY! This is the first time I've asked this stupid question! I usually bust my butt to list lots of auctions on Sundays and just wanted to know from more experienced sellers if it is worth the effort this year..I thought I'd find some help here...and not get ridiculed for asking..guess i should post more pertinent things like dirt on the love goddess or something like that ~

Forgot all about that. I think what I sell will make a difference. I have my auctions ready to go and I hate to change it but I have a feeling that it will make a difference.

Here is the AW report from after the Super Bowl last year. I am going to list like I always do.

I apologize, you are all right. There are no stupid or silly questions and this is the place we all come for help.

I just have never noticed a difference except during the summer holidays. In the winter it seems like people spend more time on their computers, regardless of what day it is or what is going on around them.

mlecher, my first husband thought TV was created for only sports programs. When I remarried, I bought a TV that doesn't tune into sports (except Ohio State Football), and made sure this husband didn't know the definition of SPORTS!

Neg - I think it depends heavily on the items you are selling and your target buyers. If your target buyers are more likely than not going to be sitting in front of the TV Sunday you may want to hold off.

neg, I don't care what Sunday it is, my auctions end at 11:30 PM on Sunday. I set up auctions during the week & schedule them to start either on Thursday for a 10 day auction or on Sunday for a 7 day auction. I have had great success with this format.
By the way mlecher, I am an aetheist, so how can I be excommunicated??

Millions of people watch the Super Bowl. A lot of those people have to be bidders that normaly are on line on Sunday evening. I don't care what anyone says it is going to hurt some ending prices on some auctions. That is one of the few evenings of the year that I will be off line.

Thanks all for the input - I ended up listing after all...not my BEST stuff but enough to keep people who don't want to watch the SuperBowl interested (i hope)...doubt that i'll be online to watch the results. Thanks for the advice.

I think it depends as well, but I have very few items up this week. I think many people will just not be in front of the computer, we'll see. I do try to avoid major holidays for major listing.

I take my cue from Marie and Jay, who list 700 auctions per day 362 days per year.

Super Bowl Sunday is a day just like any other.

What are the 3 days they don't list? I figure Christmas and Thanksgiving are two of them...

I would think Super Bowl Sunday would be the best day of the year to end an auction. All the deadbeat bidders, shipping charge bellyachers, psychos, loonies and space cadets will be glued to their tv sets rooting for Oakland. Should be nothing but quality bidders on Ebay that day.
