So, I get a chargeback from paypal today. First time in 3 1/2 years doing business. The claim is for about $160.00. Of course, the chargeback only states that it is for either items not received or a stolen card. Which is it???? The other thing, is that the information regarding whether the account was verified or not is missing now that the chargeback has been filed. Any idea how to find out which it was?

Secondly, I was smart enough to place insurance on the package. My next question is if anyone has had to file a claim for insurance after a chargeback has been filed? Was it for a lost package or for a fraud claim? Does the post office still cover insurance if it was a fraud claim? Any advice would help.

usps will only honor the claim if the package was stolen or lost or damaged,it must be signed by both buyer and seller.
if your buyer is a crook,do you think he is going to co-operate with you??
paypal has seller protection but with a fraudulent card,it will pass the chargeback on to you.

It looks as if the charge was unauthorized, according to paypal. i have attempted to contact the person who filed the claim to see if they will even bother to contact me. the shipping person had the same last name as the buyer. it was shipped as a gift. i am wondering if this was a false claim and the buyer and the person receiving it are covering it up. it was shipped to a house, not an apartment. I may check into this with the Norcross GA police dept.

Do everything necessary. Don't let them get away with fraud.

Not so, as a shipper, I have filed several insurance claims with the USPS for lost or damaged goods. I presented the claim form along with a copy of the invoice & within 24 hours had a MO in my PO box. Of course, I'm in a small town where the postmaster knows me by name.

Don't forget to get the USPS involved in terms of postal fraud, they will investigate this too.
