I use Earthlink and have been in my email and online most of the morning.
Probably an area outage. That happend to me just 5 days ago.
You can check on Earthlink's home page under support for status in different areas

Earthlinks support sent me to this site awhile back when I was having trouble accessing my Earthlink email. It works for any email and allows you to collect and send your email even if your other server is down. It is great!

Snap over to AOL you'll get alot better service. Earthlink worked fine for me until they insisted I use this dial up number that was awful.As long as I had the one number I was fine. When they gave me the other number I couldn't get e-mail or stay on three minutes without getting cut-off,then I couldn't get back on.So I dumped their service.

aohell is just as bad. theyre overpriced and bombard you with annoying ads. plus they make you use that wretched interface! i use to have aol and could never stay on. specially when i was required to dl their yet again updated software. i switched to earthlink then earthlink dsl and have never looked back.
