Ok, my last post of the day. I have to get to work.
But, I thought I would share this as many threads have been started complaining about buyers not leaving feedback.
I have bought quiet a few items lately and the two that arrived today had nothing in them that would let me know the item number or who I bought them from.
This happens a lot. I had to go search under each item I have recently bought to look at where the seller was from to narrow down what I received from about 30 purchases (all these are similar...300 postcards, 450 postcards, etc.) Of course, I did it because I need to know what is still outstanding. But, it was soooo much trouble I actually considered not leaving feedback myself!
If you're not already doing it, when you package something, remember to take the time to put a little note, a copy of the Ebay page, or even their own letter with a "Thanks" at the bottom, and if the Ebay item number and title is on it I bet your feedback ratio will improve!

That is why I use AW's sales manager, when payment arrives I click & send payment received notification & print an invoice . When item is shipped, same thing, click & send "item shipped" notification.
Invoice is included with the item so there is no confusion where it came from or who sent it.

bear1949, that is exactly what i do. not only is it good business practice, the USPS can't say the item could not be delivered, the address is inside just in case!

Buyers are lazy, why do you think they shop online. Seriously, I always leave feedback as a seller, but rarely do as a buyer. In my "item shipped" e-mail, I post a URL that is customized for them to leave feedback for me. But even then, buyers don't leave feedback. I'm not worried about. After you've reached a certain point with feedback -- past 100? -- its not important. I'm too busy selling and take the path of least resistance.

Sun: That is true. I don't worry about it either. But, this is the first time I have bought many items with similar titles. I know lots of my buyers do it all the time.
I did not realize how confusing it can be trying to match up what you received with what has yet to be received.
As a seller, I hate people who just put a check in an envelope, even with the Ebay id but no description.
As a buyer, I haven't even received an ebay id in many packages and it is frustrating having to track down what was received (not necessarily for feedback although I always leave it, but so I know what is still floating around out there somewhere).
I too put a copy of the invoice in my package before sending it, but after buying so many items lately I have found that many don't.

Many buyers do a similar thing, they send a check or money order with no reference whatsoever as to what the payment is for. That's another reason why PayPal is so attractive.

How about my ebay? Go to the bidding watching tab and there's a list of what you bought and a shortcut to feedback that item.
I've got each tab bookmarked separately so its a short trip.

I recieved a package the other day and the seller had slipped a note into it esentially saying they would not leave me feedback unless i left them feedback. Kind of funny I paid for auction less than 2 minutes after it closed thru paypal, I almost gave him a negative for blackmail. I did relent and give him a positive only because of quality of items and fast delivery. lol to this day he has not given me my feedback

Yup, might but if not USA and you include Price they will eat you alive as some have to pay 30% on your paperwork. So all non USA I DONT sent anything but item and cross referance number on a stickey. I e-mail them of pending shipped lot. Works for me...

I always put the final price paid on customs so nothing to hide there.
As far as going to my ebay...yes, I did that. but, with nothing to indicate who it was from, other than a name and address on the box, I had to open each of my 29 pending shipments to see where they were from to guess at who sent it. (These were all for 250 to 400 postcards...which is about all that was in the titles for all of them).
Thank goodness only one came from each city!
Without doing that I would have been lost. If there was an easier way on my Ebay page please let me know.

I have a nice short note I put in all my auctions.
Date
buyers name
eBay#
Enclosed you will find your eBay item, insert your auction title, that you won the bid on.
It was a pleasure doing business with you and if you have a spare moment drop me a line and let me know that your item arrived safe and sound.
Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or problems concerning your order.
My name
Address
City USA
ebay ID:
Email address:
**********
I have had many compliments on this letter and if you want to use it go ahead. I have it in my Microsoft word so all I have to do is the date, name # and title of auction. Then print it and insert it into my mailing envelope. I sometimes add a little touch and use decorated computer paper.
If I mail to an area that goes through customs I always insert the EOA notice from eBay inside the envelope incase they open it to find out what is in there.

Many Don't know how. You forget that 50% of your buyers are not capable of filling out the AW checkout. Do you think they can figure out how to leave feedback?

If my buyers would actually use the AW checkout they get with the WBN, my packing slip to them would have all the details. I print a generic one from MS Word for those that don't or won't use it.
I keep track of my purchases using my email program (making new subfolders) and My Ebay page. But I only leave feedback about once per week, not after each purchase arrives. But it would be hard to track with a lot of similar purcases.
Here's what I'd do. I'd print a receipt for my payment for each auction for good record keeping. On each one I'd hand write "date paid" with the date on it, and put it in a stack of "merchandise items waiting to be received". The day the item arrives, mark it "received" and the date received, any problems with the item, etc., and then you can leave feedback at your convenience. Simple. But I'm a very organized person!
