If I have another item identical to something I've sold, I use SYI 2.0. Or Personal Offer, if I'm happy with the last result.

The "other" AW service makes it easy to do relists.
All you have to do is launch your auctions normally, and if a free relist is available, it will automatically find it and use the relist. If a relist is not available, it posts the item normally.
This way I don't have to even think about using the relists- it's all done for me.

We've been using Vrane for several years and it has gone very smoothly. I'm not sure what problems you have encountered, as we've been able to relist without interuption for a long while. You may want to take a second look. I am in no way affiliated with the website, but list thousands of auctions monthly and find them to be a great service.

Banana - It's a competing service with a name that SOUNDS like AuctionWatch, and has the same initials as AW, only it "WORKS".
I'm not gonna name names here, so that's about the biggest hint I can give.
