HI all, I just checked out an auction. The seller has been registered since Nov 2000. How can this seller with a rating of 12 postives and no negs have a sunglasses Icon next to their user name? I thought sunglasses was only if you were with ebay for less than 30 days.

anyone know the answer to this one?

All that means is that he has changed his name recently. I also have sunglasses since I changed my name. It may also be for changing your email address.

If you change your ID your get the glasses. If you check their feedback, you'll prbably see a recent ID change.

Don't see any recent email changes etc. I pulled up the feedback and I cant find where you would look for recent id change

OOPS NEVER MIND. I FOUND IT !! No recent id change. Maybe it was an email change. Weird because the id IS an email address

OHHH! another warning. He has a few things sold and it shows that he has NEVER left feedback for others, even though he has postive feedback. Not good. I think I will pass on this auction.

Just out of curiosity, if you like the item - why do you care about the feedback? Why would you not buy something tht you like based on the sellers habit of not giving feedback.

I don't know. If I couldnt live without the item, I would probably bid on it. If there wasnt another one available but since there is, I will try buying it from someone else.

I'm with Paloma on this. The feedback is the last part of the total transaction, and I just don't like sellers who never leave feedback. So they don't get my money, unless I'm completely desperate for the item (and that's rare).

Shades on long time e bayers, e bay is encourging folks to get rid of an e mail address as an I.D. I, 3 days ago sent e bay a fake pay pal notice, they replied tonite. short of it. e mail address names are making it easier to attack your (now part of e bay, pay pal acoount.)

They realize and ADMIT in the email they sent me they are VERY aware of future problems that most CERTAINLY will and ARE arising from this situtaion.

I believe I was sent a most personal, not automated reply to the problem. If any one else gets any fake pay pal notices send them to [email protected] They WILL reply. perhaps you may get a similar reply from them an can post EXACTLY what they say.

As far as the seller not posting(returning) feed back,,,,,believe it or not many ,,,,,still have NO clue how to do that( actually the more operative word is, are even AWARE of feed back.) No matter how many years they have been on e bay.

Call me dumb cluck or any thing else you want, I had sold well over 100 things on ebay when I started. feed back was something I was not even aware of. I saw the number rise,,,,,not a clue,,,,,then a buyer,,,,,Desperate for feed back ask me to return hers. How do I do it? what do I do? she expalined.

I was sooooooo ashamed....All those good people and not a word back from Me. I did as Many as I could. (more than likly 3 months),,,,,hence, 90 days. All is well now. POW!!!!! As soon as I get feed a feed is given. Well over 1000 now.

Whhhhhhiiiip It! Snnnnaaaap IT! Snap! snap! snap! ooooo [ edited by FETISH128 on Apr 13, 2003 08:40 PM ]

I too have been asked by buyers how they can leave feedback. Either it isn't very clear to newbies, or ebay doesn't make a point to show them how, or . . . whatever. When I've explained how to do it to a buyer, he/she is always very grateful. I guess we just have to keep doing the educating ourselves.
