well, warm weather is here again so let's heat things up with a little fun listing.

did anybody find any great bargains that sold for a lot lately? I haven't been buying since we are planning on moving and I have promised to unload both the shed and the garage before the move.

I did go to a couple of sales this weekend though and couldn't resist buying just a thing or two. LOL!

couple of jewelry boxes, vintage electric football game, nintendo games for the grandson. you get the picture, nothing but necessities.

Come on guys, I'm really bored after a long winter and everybody has a tale or two to tell.

I had bought 69 Agatha Christie Books that had come from an Estate Sale from a book dealer at the flea market.I paid him $100.00 for them and sold them for $755.00 on E-Bay.

Wow. Were these Christie books hardback or paperback? How old were they? Did you sell them as a Lot or singly? If singly, did some buyers buy more than one? Just curious. What a good deal; lucky you!

Yes, please answer RoadSmith's question as I have many paper backs of hers.

Nothing for me. I went to a wedding instead.
I really don't need anything but that doesn't mean I not going to buy something. I usually visit the Thrift shops and last week I found a purse worth a lot. I have it on and I think since I don't have the COA it isn't going like I thought it would. In fact it doesn't have a bid and I am hoping that they are not bidding at the very end to get it cheap. The other bags with the same name are BIN for 700 - 950 dollars. Mine is $110.00. It is real....

I bought a Kenneth Jay Lane (KJL) Panther parure for $5.00 at the flea market this weekend. I'm keeping it because it's so gorgeous. What a deal!

Cheryl, or Kiara, or any of you jewelry mavens out there.... could you please explain what "parure" or "semi/ demi parure" means? I have been given somevintage jewelry items to sell on consignment from a woman who is away for a few weeks. I'd like to have these pieces sold by the time she gets back. She has descriptions written out for me, and some of the descriptions contain those terms. Thanks!

parure
matched set of jewelry consisting of such pieces as earrings, bracelet, brooch, necklace, and ring. By the mid-17th century, jewels had ceased to be created as individual works of art expressing some idea or fancy and had instead become mere personal ornaments that were beautiful but lacking in any deeper significance. Consequently, as the forms of jewels tended to become

And a demi-parure is a matching set, usually containing a necklace, earrings, and a pin.

There is a glossary of jewelry terms here.

They were Hardbacks from The Agatha Christie Mystery Collection (Black leatherette with gold embossed emblems).I listed them singly, most buyers bought more than one.One buyer bought 8. One book sold for $87.00 several brought over $25.00. Most of the books were from the 1980's. I had started each book at $2.00.

I bought a large box of old Amiga computer software at a swap meet for $5 and got about $150 for the games on ebay. Last summer I bought four very large boxes of old Amiga games for $20 at another swap meet and got almost $1,000 for the lot. ( I listed all games individually but many buyers bought more than one game ). The international bidders bid very high and won many of the auctions.

How about this one? I was a nice lady and helped an older vendor at the flea market set up. She gave me a whole bunch of the cutest candles. I mean a whole bunch!

Turns out they were worth $35 each! I sold them to a local gift shop and came out with $2,315!!!

Went browsing at a flea market and found some ads that were individually packaged. All were from 1896-97. And all for $2 each. I only bought three thinking that the one for Metcalf's Coca Wine (the original Coca cola emerged out of similar brand)would be a hit. The other was a soap and a B & O railroad. No one wanted Metcalf's but the railroad went for $22. Good return on a $2 item.

Went to an auction some time ago. It was an old general store that had been boarded up for years. Bought a box of about 100 children's hankies, brand new old stock from about 1940, for $2.00. I just sold the last of them, and have been averaging $7.00 each. Kind of interesting, the first ones got $10 each, and the last ones $6 each. Every buyer was delighted. Best $2.00 I ever spent! By the way, spring has arrived in Maryland and it is just wonderful!
