Here is a good site with lots of info for testing different materials like plastic, bone, ivory, glass, jet, etc.

It's for button collectors but is useful for jewelry and lots of other items you may sell.

You are awesome! This was a great reference for me. I know beer stuff and car stuff. All of this house stuff I've been dealing with is greek to me!

Thanks, I just happened to find that one this morning when I found some more buttons that I had stored in my shop.

Here is another helpful one. When you click on an item on the list it will bring you to the page but you have to scroll down below all the upper links to find the exact info.

The only problem is that you can keep going and you never get any of your work done.

Thanks lots, toasted. That's a fun site and I just spent some time there and bookmarked it too. I'll have to see if I can find some of my Peanuts/Snoopy toys when I get them unpacked again.
