I give the odds of a June FLD at about 1 in 20 odds. Ebay has other ways to jack up listing totals that cost less than FLDS.

Free Gallery, Bin anything cheaper than a free listing day. I notice on free listing days a lot of empty auctions waiting for the seller to put in the information. I guess what they do is just list as many blank ones as they can and hope they can catch up with them by the end of 7 days. How many of those listings get bids? eBay loses both ways to many auctions to weed through to get to the good ones and then no sales which gives them nothing in FVFs.

I also think it hurts ebay in a few other ways. Some sellers sit on anticapted FLD dates and hope for the free insertion fees whereas they normally would list away. Many regular sellers may feel cheated by the FLDs as they list regularly and loyally and then the occasional seller loads up on FLD and dilutes the paid for listings. If we ever see another FLD it will surprise me.
