Update: Here's what Christoper (moderator) told me to use. I'm going to try it (sure looks different from the old code!):

http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/imageserver.x/00000000/roadsmith/filename.jpg (and swap out filename, of course), add "img" stuff at beginning and end.

So, here goes!

Still didn't work! Back to the drawing board.

Okay, everybody. I'm flummoxed. Here is the code I"ve been using to post a picture on AW: I'm assuming I need to change "auctionwatch" to "vendio." I tried that, and it still doesn't work.

[img*]http://imagehost.auctionwatch.com/preview/ro/roadsmith/nameofpicture.jpg[img/*]

Of course, the stars are there just to keep an image from showing in this message.

Aside from changing to "vendio," what am I doing wrong here?

I have the pictures in Image Hosting.

I noted name of picture.

I attempted to insert the names of 5 pictures five times.

Doesn't work. Help!

Did you check to see if they are showing up in your image hosting also??? That is very strange, but I'll keep trying

I think you are doing it right because a picture wants to come up, if you were using the wrong code, you would just see the words.

I do need to change "auctionwatch" to "vendio," right?

These pictures are all in image hosting now! I wonder if the problem could be this: I've written a partial auction for these items, not completed yet, and pulled the pictures up into the auction, then "saved" the auction for later when I can complete it. If the pictures are in a saved auction, does this mean I can't show them here???

yes, "vendio" is right in your code.

It doesn't seem like that should matter if your pictures are being "saved" like that. I don't see why they wouldn't show up??? Sorry that I'm not very helpful

I deleted the pictures from my saved auction, and they still aren't showing up. I'm going to wait and see if a moderator can help me. So frustrating!

Did you click on your picture in Manage Images, then right click on the photo, click on properties and copy the link shown there? That should do the trick. Also, did you change the wording "nameofpicture" to the actual picture name including the .jpg?

Some things I've observed about images. Sometimes the computer labels them .JPG and sometimes the computer labels them .jpg but they are case-sensitive so that is one of the first things I check when images won't show.

An auction image can be seen on ebay after you post an auction. The same image can still be seen even if you have deleted from your computer and/or image hosting source such as Vendio because it is still on ebay's computer. You can copy your own photo from the auction to get it back on your own computer that way.

I realize that this stuff probably doesn't pretain to your photos but they are things to consider when images won't show.

I compared the name of yours to how mine are named:

http://imagehost.vendio.com/preview/ro/roadsmith/INSERT THE ACTUAL PICTURE NAME HERE.jpg

I'm not sure what you named the picture. Make sure when you are typing it that you type it exactly the same or do a cut and paste after right clicking on it in Manage Images.

Example of one of mine that works:

Turns into:

Now, before I hit Post Reply, I cross my fingers that it shows up. Here goes. . .

Ebay does NOT have the pictures on there computer if you are hosting them on Vendio (except maybe the small picture if you use the gallery option)
If it is still showing up after you delete it then you have an old page on your browser. If you click refresh then it would go away.

I THINK I've got it now--it worked for me over on moderator's site a few minutes ago. Yes, the whole picture name must be case-sensitive, and when I changed a "w" o a "W" it worked. I'm trying it here. If it works, I'll start a Whole New Thread to try to get help on the IDs. I sure do appreciate all of you spending your valuable time to help me. Sometimes I really feel brain-dead!

So here goes:

Oh YAY. It WORKED.

Hi Roadsmith,

I think the bowl says England Falcon Ware. I have seen other pitcher and bowl sets that are marked Falcon Ware and when I check Kovels the middle part of your mark are joined L G letters. It says the mark is 1936. Your pitcher looks to be older though, perhaps from the 1920's.

Kiara: Thank you VERY much for that information! You are a real treasure.

I may not need to post all those pictures again, after all, if you will just confirm for me that the set can be called art deco.

I've seen a lot of pitcher and bowl sets on ebay and they go for very little, surprisingly. Perhaps now that Falcon Ware is identified, it'll get more. ~Adele

In my estimation you can call it art deco as it doesn't have the appearance of the ordinary pitcher and bowl you always see. It has a great decoration on it. Lucky you. You always come up with unordinary findings.

Yes, I agree. Put art deco in the title. Sets used to bring quite a bit but not anymore. Maybe too many surfaced all at one time? They weren't always available in certain areas so people purchased them when they found them but now with ebay they know that they can get them cheaper and that there are always some available.

Libra: Thanks! We had some rich neighbors who moved, said the set wouldn't work with their houseful of new furniture (!!) and would I sell this for them. The pieces have some small cracks, only one of which is on the exterior, and I fear those neighbors are hoping for more than the set can bring on Ebay. I'm going to ask if they'd like me to place it in an antique shop here on consignment. Might bring more.

Of course, they could always give it to me! LOL
