Here's the email I received....

"Dear valued costumer,
eBay's acquisition of PayPal was completed on February 3, 2003. As part of our continuing commitment to protect your account and to reduce the instance of fraud on our website , we are undertaking a period review of our member accounts. You are requested to visit our site by following the link given below ,

This message was sent to you courtesy of eBay's computerized e-mail
system. Please do not send a reply to this message, as it will vanish into
the mysterious electronic void. If you have a question or some input,
and would like a response from a live, caring human being, please e-mail
us at [email protected]."

I knew it wasn't from ebay when it mentioned "a response from a live, caring human being..." LOL

Ebay doesn't give a crap about us receiving such emails --- if they did care, and wanted a copy of emails like this, they would post an easy to find email address on their site.

I went to their safety and rules (or some such crap) page and it didn't have anything about safety ...

Vinnie

This part is very suspect as well. Also I think it would be a periodic review rather than a period review. Many of these European hackers use a few routers and they get to be impossible to catch.

I'm still thinking that the cottage industry of the decade will be translating these letters into native english.

If you are a "valued costumer", Ebay would have waited until Halloween to send that email.

The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

The reality of the situation is that very few of these guys ever get caught. That's why there are so many of them. Better to face reality than to live in a dream world. Of course there's nothing wrong with having a fetish though.
