This is my first post. You guys are all so knowledgable, that I thought of you first when my husband brought home this bell from an estate sale. I have wanted to post here many times before, but I don't use Vendio and didn't want to give my cc information just to post... but I have finally given in.
Anyway, my husband saw a bidding war at the auction for bells identical to this. They brought over $100. Then the people left and later they offered this bell, so he bid against 1 other person and got it for $25. He figured if they all wanted it that bad, it might be something. From my general looking on ebay, I am guessing it is worth around $10. But maybe I am missing something.
I don't deal in glass, so I don't even know how to advertise this. It is marked Fenton on the inside. Can someone tell me what kind of glass this is, and how I can tell if it is vintage... or any information?
((( edited to ad... thanks for the help on the photo... the first photo is in the response below, here is the 2nd photo)))
Thanks in advance!

It does look like vaseline glass. The flowers are tulips but I'm not sure if Fenton has an official name for it.... I'm not too familiar with their glass. You could try "ribbed tulip" in a search and see if there is anything like that listed.
This site has green Fenton and some bells so perhaps check it out. The bell is very pretty and there are lots of collectors for Fenton so good luck with it.

You didn't say how it was marked. If it's an impressed mark, it's newer Fenton. Older pieces generally had paper labels.
I'll pass on the vaseline glass issue but it is opalescent (the white edge).
Fenton has been pumping out a huge number of products over the past decade and a lot of it is lovely. Collectible? If you find the right collector or someone who wants it just for pretty.
The bidding wars might have been over older Fenton pieces...

Oh, forgot to say:
$25 is gift shop retail, more or less.

Some sites refer to the green color as Fenton Vaseline. There are a couple listed on ebay but it's hard to tell by the pics if it's the exact same bell as the colors look a bit different. I'm not familiar enough with Fenton to know if they reissued pieces or not.

Yes, Fenton has reissued pieces: baskets, bells, plates, etc.
There's also quite a bit of handpainted Fenton out there, sometimes signed by the artist.
Like I said, really pretty stuff. But there are a lot of Fenton bells on eBay, nearly 400.

if it just has a sticker and no impressed Fenton mark, then it is prior to 1976, after that all of their items have the mark in the molds.
if you have an older bell that a collector needs then it could do very well.

Thanks for the help. It doesn't have a paper label. When you look inside the bell, the word Fenton is molded in up near the handle. It appears to be inside an oval. So I will assume this is a newer piece. Thanks!
