Is it me or are bidders getting stranger?
First high bidder emailed to tell me her sister had dieed and could not pay. Problem is, she emailed me from her "sisters" work email.
Second bidder said that she was "hysterical and in tears", since the shoes she purchased for her bridesmaids were the wrong color. Black is black is black. It isn't pink and it isn't off white. The colors of her bidesmaids' dresses.
Third bidder writes that her shoes are "damaged, discolored and missing studs". I check all items before shipping. Even then, I would have probably refunded her money just to avaoid the headache....but her pair of shoes are the ones that were used in the auction photos. No discoloration, No missing studs, No damage are visible in the 7 photos.

shoe
It is dismaying what people will do and say to get over. I have learned the hard way to protect myself. Got an invisble marking pen, etc.
And now state in my auctions I wont do refunds unless misstated or (by chance I did miss something,)as per circumstance. Had an item I sold, the person said it arrived broke and the piece was not in the box. Ok, I am pretty sure I looked at before I sent it out and as far as I knew it was not chipped or missing anything. Then she tells me to send her money back and she will file the claim with the PO and they will keep the item. And Im thinking to myself: Wait, she wants the ins. claim and her money back? What is this?? So eager to keep customer(s) happy, I almost did it, too. But caught myself and forwarded her just the insurance claim. Am holding on to her check....I told her to look for broken piece :;eyeroll:: if it dropped as she took out of the box because it was not broken when I sent it.

I know what you mean...Just had a buyer who pleaded for "extra time" because she had a family emergency. Being a softie, I said "OK" and that I understood that "sometimes emergencies happen." Well, I checked her recent feedback...and she's completed 31 auctions since mine ended! I promptly e-mailed her back (and filed an NPB too)...She responded with a nasty comment about my "assuming she had an emergency" when she did not. I sent her a copy of her first message and told her that I hadn't "assumed" anything and that SHE had told me of the emergency. I thought about adding some comment about being sure to keep track of who your telling what to but, for once, displayed some self-discipline!

This double dumb buyer wrote me an email saying she was also a seller and if she paid the shipping price of ($5.75) listed in my auction she would not make any money reselling this piece. She asked me to ship it in a "Priority Mail Box" and she is sure the piece weighs under 1 pound so the charge would be $3.85. She is right the piece weights 14 ounces without box or packing. Please see my email to her and tell me if its too STRONG. I don't want to hurt this DOUBLE DUMB buyer/"SELLER" feelings.

Hello Mary Lou,
I am sorry to say, you don't know what you are talking about. First off did you read my auction description? It says shipping without insurance will be $5.75. Secondly the tray its self (without box or packing) weights about 14 ounces. Thirdly, you do want it wrapped well so the glass doesn't get broken don't you? Before emailing me did you look at my 4,000 feedback's? If so did you see one complaint about over charging for shipping? I will be charged $5.75 to mail you this tray without insurance. Overall I will lose a little money on shipping you this tray because of packing material. I guess if people don't appreciate my work for them, I might as well add a $2.00 shipping and handling fee to my auctions. That will help me cover some of my labor, packing material, and the time it takes to answer emails like yours. GOOD LUCK with your business and I will watch for your payment.

I have never encountered a buyer like that bigpeepa and to say she can't resell it if she has to pay that "high" shipping then she shouldn't have bid. Stupid people need to learn some lessons and by winning your auction and saying that in her email is Stupid. Don't back down. Maybe you could say to her - the more you complain Mary Lou that is when I will start charging you a handling fee and for every complaint another $1.00 will be added. I bet she pays up quick...
