Although Ebay just announces Free Listing Day (FLD) whenever they get ready, I am aware that it is usually around the same time each year. Can anybody tell me when Ebay announced their last two FLDs? It would be nice to have a few auctions ready to launch if Ebay decides to announce FLD. Thank you in advance for the info.

Well, yeah. Don't most sellers take advantage for this reason?

The regular sellers that consistently list year round do not like the notion of ebay being diluted with millions of extra auction items due to an FLD. And you can't blame them with the large number of items out there already and the scarity of bidders.

I am starting to think the majority of people on EBAY are 70% sellers. They are probably the biggest buyers too.

I agree with that. But I use to buy a lot on ebay but now rarely buy anything. I think a huge percentage of all counter hits are other sellers researching their own items they are going to list.

Ace, I used to buy alot too. (Wondered why I never had any money left from my sales! lol).
Seems like ebay sellers aren't really offering deals that much better than retail when you factor in the postage. (Not that I don't understand it as a seller myself). Some buyers are discrimate about it, others are not.
Right now, I need boxes and have been browsing. Sure would be easier to just have them delivered here, but I refused to pay 7-9 or more for shipping. Probably will shlub over to a local place.

Web sites like Quill and U Line will pay the shipping on decent orders and no ebay sellers does that. I use to buy my supplies from parrothead88 then the Priority Rates went way up and killed his sales plus Roadsmith found Quill last year and posted it here. More and more I have found better deals away from ebay on certain items.

I just looked thru a Uline catalog I have here and found that in a lot of cases, their prices are double what I can find on ebay.

Usually the ebay sellers charge more for shipping than the boxes.
And for ebay in general I'd be willing to bet that as much of 30% of all ebay sells overall have the seller paying more for the shipping than the item. If there weren't so many sellers illegally using Media Mail that figure might even be higher.

Sure seems like a lot of people don't mind working for nothing. FLD is a SUPER WASTE OF TIME. If people can't afford to pay for a listing they shouldn't be trying to sell that item on Ebay. It takes more then Ebay to become a seller, it take years of hard work.

Yeah, but momma always told me, a penny saved, is a penny earned. I think it is nice for ebay to recognize the people that made them who they are today. The sellers. It's nice to get a little thankyou every now and then.

I agree with you celebrity. It's like coupons or sales at stores...people flock and ebay gets a boost(most likely)in their FV fees. Why should anyone care about the year long sellers - they jump on it too!

I agree with the last two individuals. FLD is a great way to save money. Although it's only twice a year, it's a day that many look forward to. Some use it to unload various items around their homes. To answer the question regarding the last two FLDS, the last FLD was Dec. 26th. I'm not sure about the other date. I believe it was mid-August, but I'm not sure.
