I'm trying to get this figured out before posting the auction.
I have a Franklin Mint Monopoly set, pedastal, 4 chairs, the whole set. I don't think the pedastal is going to be small enough to ship through UPS, but it's also too small for our local frieght company (I'm in podunk Wyoming) who won't touch anything less than 400 lbs. Any ideas? I don't have a lot of experience with larger items and need some tips.

Does Greyhound go to your particular Podunk? I've heard of many satisfied sellers who have shipped large items that way (but the buyer has to go to the depot to pick it up).
You might also try this company. There's a link to click on the home page to see if they service your area.
BTW make SURE you box it up, weigh it and measure it before checking on the shipping prices. I've heard too many stories here about sellers getting stung on shipping because of underestimating size/weight!

Hi, You don't give the measurements but try airborne.com. They were good to me on an oversized. When FedEx ground or express would not ship.

I *might* be within the UPS size restrictions here, actually, but I'm trying to line out all of my options. The box is going to be *approximately* 42 inches tall, 40 across the top and 38 across each side. It's not huge, but pretty big just the same. Therein lies the problem
The greyhound idea is a good one, and I don't think they roll through here, but I bet they do through Cheyenne which isn't that far a drive for me. The bus company that does service Casper might connect up with them, too. Will have to check.
Thanks for all the ideas everyone! My sister is thinking about doing some selling..I told her this board is required reading.
