I thought I'd share a handy printing tip that saves time and ink - maybe everyone knows this..but this is for those who don't(works great for the "paypal" packing slips!)
When you get the print screen up, select "options" or "properties" and select "quick print" (or "draft" - printing software may vary) and "print colored images in black and white" - the packing slips just fly out of the printer!

I imagine this works best with color inkjet printers. Our laser printers are pretty quick already. I did have one of those cheapo free-with-purchase Lexmark color printers but it died after printing 20 pages. Never again.
But the purpose of this note is: You print out packing lists? Why?

I don't use the PP anymore - I print my own teeny tiny packing slips now (my packages weigh in at EXACTLY on the nose 1 oz. with a little stamp so I can't use the PP slip) but I notice most of the packages I receive come with the PP or some other packing slip.
I print everything in the draft mode now - even letters ..boarding passes..you name it..no more waiting!( I don't have a laser printer - can't justify the expense for the little printing I do) I have been using two of those cheapo "free with purchase" printers for two years now without problems! You must have gotten a lemon Fluffy!

tomwii: How many pages do you print per drum? And what do the refills cost?
I want to start using Endicia and need a cheaper method than the inkjet.
fluffy: Do you just send things without any type packing slip to let them know what the auction number was? I know I never leave feedback for anyone who does not attach something letting me know who I purchased it from. When you buy 10 or so items a week it can get confusing. And, many people probably buy more.
This week my purchases were for scrapbooking materials, last week I bought crochet books, so depending on what I am in the mood to buy at the time I go on a buying spree and all items are similar. Those packing slips make it real handy to check off what is coming in.
neglus: Thanks for the tip. I just changed my settings to permanently print in draft. It is much faster. I left the color option though because items in color seemed to really take up the black ink when I said black only.

No.
After I list a piece of jewelry, the item is packaged in a poly bag and sealed with a label that has the auction number in human-readable and bar-coded form.

I print and include the packing slip from Vendio.
this way the buyer has an invoice for their records and their address is also inside the package in case the PO damages the original on the outside of the package.

fluffy: I forgot you have a great sell through rate with your jewelry. With me, I have to list most items 2 and sometimes 3 times before they sell so the original auction number is not much help
Back when Ebay was new and I sold everything I listed I used to box them up and put the auction number on the box and just wait to ship also. I had forgotten about that!
I don't mind the relists, it just makes it a little more confusing keeping up with what is what so the packing slip works great. I do like Paypals as it is small and quick to print.

I use the Zebra thermal label printer with Endicia...no ink at all! I picked mine up on eBay for $275. You can see it on the Endicia site. I think there is some kind of offer that includes the printer with a year of service for around $500 but you would have to check.
