Okay my beloved sellers group here. I was saving this for a rainy day and its pouring today...so can anybody tell me where to find out about this? Y'all are so good with Jewelery!
Is this fifties/sixties? What do I call it -besides Peacock Purse? Any Suggestions?
Looks like Canvas and leather. The botton is some type of wood. Also I dont have a clue what this A M is on the back. Wondering if its the lady's initials from estate I got it from or designer initials?

Yeah! I sure do wish I had a purse like that one. Momma could make her car payment come October! But mine does look like the regency craft one. -- Thanks much ace! (I typed in jeweled purse and got like 4 listings!)

Lucy, thanks for that. Yeah, after toasted mentioned Enid Collins I googled it and found out:
"During the late 60s, the Collins company manufactured complete do-it-yourself kits called Sophistikits (I and II)".
I figured it had to be one of these as no signature. Its still a pretty handbag, but, man, how disappointing!

I was correct with the craft purse? Too bad the first owner put a big A + M on the back.
I guess it wasn't considered tacky back in the '60's with the drugs and sex revolution going on.
