Anybody else receive the following email today from Endicia?
Dear USPS Shipper,
We are writing to urge you to consider using direct debit from your checking account to pay for postage. The Postal Service has advised that it does not wish to incur the cost of credit card fees on large PC Postage purchases, and is imposing restrictions on our ability to allow you to use your credit card for monthly purchases that exceed $1000. Therefore, we are asking you to help us keep the service affordable by switching to direct debit.
You can easily switch to direct debit by logging into your Endicia account online (from DAZzle, click the Postage menu option and select "Account on Endicia.com": click 'Change Payment Method', check the Radio button labeled "Deduct from my checking account", and enter your checking account & routing numbers. You may also contact us by phone at (800)576-3279 x130, or by email at [email protected] to switch.
Please be assured that we appreciate your business and are doing everything we can to avoid any limitations on credit card usage. However, we are bound by USPS policy on this matter. Note that Endicia does not keep your postage funds, nor do we receive any commissions or surcharges on postage purchases. In the event that we are required to limit your credit card purchases to $1000 per month, we will try to give you as much advance notice as possible. In the meantime, if you would like to make your views known concerning this policy, please email [email protected]. If you have been working with a USPS representative, please CC them on your e-mail (or provide us with their name) and encourage them to provide the feedback to their management.
We really appreciate your help and we thank you for choosing Endicia.

No, I haven't gotten that one.
A few months back I switched my credit card to one that offers frequent flier points for each dollar spent. Now I get points for buying postage. I buy a *LOT* of postage.
Anyone else doing this?

This is why I also use a CC for Endicia. I buy about $400 to $500 per week in postage and am racking up the points on a Disney card to get a free night at the Disneyland hotel.

Oh, I love the USPS thinking on this one.
"Let's see, we introduced CC acceptance as a way to get people to buy more postage. And folks who use Internet postage actually cost us less, since we don't have to print stamps for them. However, they would have to buy postage anyway to use their Internet postage service, so let's eliminate the cost of card processing. What are the poor suckers going to do, switch to UPS?"

I didn't receive that one either. I hope it's not on the way because I usually spend quite a bit in postage a month too and get cash back

I haven't been using that much postage lately, but if they put a $1000 per month limit on it, it wouldn't cost any more to just get a second Endicia account since I get $15 per $1000 back on my paypal debit card.

I did call Endicia and they confirmed they sent this email. They stated they are being pressured by the USPS to get people to switch to debit but it is not mandatory at this moment. They will try to give an advance notice if it does come to be. This really sucks as I use the credit card to earn reward points. Between Endicia, eBay and other business related expenses, the points add up fast!
