I'm trying to create a spreadsheet that will break down and tell me the final profit for all sales I make on ebay. I'm trying to include all the fees involved (listing, final value, etc.).
The problem I'm having is trying to get the final value % for ebay in there, since, as you know, the % changes as price increases.
Is there anyone out there that can give me an idea on how to do this? I'm just learning excel, and just can't figure this out.. I'd like to make it where I can just input the final bid on the item, and poof, excel does all the math and I can see exactly how much profit was made. The thing is, I'll have some items sell below the $25 mark, and some sell higher, so I can't just set up a field in excel to say "Final Bid*5.25%".. I'll need excel to know if the Final Bid value is equal to, or greater than $25.01, to only take 2.75% off that end of the money..
Sorry if this sounds confusing. I'm sure most on here know exactly what I'm getting at hehe.
Anyway, if someone can point me in the right direction for figuring this out, I'd very much appreciate it.

Jon, cant you use the "If" function with the greater than or less than function in your formula? I wish I could tell you exactly what your formula should read, but I have forgotten most of what I knew about those advanced features. Somebody knows, tho. Maybe they will hop in here and tell you. You might want to check the Excel Home page though.

after much fun (yah right hah), I got it figured out.. and yes, it was alot of if and <,>,=, stuff! but I got it worked out.
I'm not going to be listing anything over $1,000, so I got to leave that much out.. but have it worked out now that I can input just the Start Price, End Price, Cost, and if the person paid with paypal or not, and I get a total of all the fees, and total profit, for each item..
It's nice and simple, but wow what a pain to set up!
If anyone needs a copy, I'll be happy to send them one. Just remember it's for things less than $1000

Plase send me a copy, also. Have been wondering about whether or not worth the trouble, but would like to try a spreadsheet and see...thanks so very much, Ruthie

Jon, if its not too much trouble, I think I'd like to try the formula myself.
can you send it to: [email protected]?
<Thanks much>
btw, whats this 'remove' stuff in all the email addresses?

neroter, it prevents the email-harvesting "spam spiders" from getting your email address.. Us humans know what remove means, computer programs don't....

wow lots of people needing this I see!
I'll get it sent out to everyone this evening.
The version I'll send won't have Vendio fees (because I'm sure not everyone is on the same plan).
The one I will send y'all calculates all the listing fees (depending on start price of course) and final value fees, for anything under $1000.. Also there is a simple Y/N box for paypal and for a gallery picture. I don't use any of the other ebay features so didn't add them in.
I'll add in a note for anyone that has different PayPal fees so you can find and change that value pretty easily.
Anyhow, back to work! I'll get this little spreadsheet out tonight.

Jon...you are wonderful to share this with everyone. If it's not to much trouble I would also like the one with the vendio fees. Or easy instructions on how to add it. I left my email up above or here it is again.
Thankyou Thankyou!

Tell you what, Freeenterprise, if you send it to me, I will throw it up as a webpage, and post the link- that way, your email-addressing finger won't get worn out! LOL
