I have been getting emails in the last two weeks that appear to be ebay telling me I need to update information, or I have been suspended because my info isn't correct, etc.
Today is the 5th or 6th email that I have received in 2 weeks. I am getting tired of this, and figure it will only get worse. Any suggestions? Any idea how I will know when it is truly ebay sending me a notification?
Here is what the latest email states:
Dear eBay Member,
We wish to inform you that for the next two days we shall upgrade our database servers in order to increase our efficiency in managing eBay users accounts and to secure the transactions.
To avoid any possible errors that might occur during this process we advise you to check if your account is active and the registration informations are correct by clicking the following link:
Remember: eBay will not ask you for sensitive personal information (such as your password, credit card and bank account numbers, social security number, etc.) in an email.

Phisher emails??? Is that some kind of derogatory remark about Phish or their phans, or was it just a typo? lol. I wonder what other Phishheads would think if they read those comments...

Are these coming from the same domain? If so, simply block that domain. That should slow them down. My Norton Internet Security blocks most of these.

The last one which I got yesterday was really a joke. No eBay logo or anything. They are getting pretty pushy and there is nothing we can do about it but send them to [email protected].

My husband received one too. Funny, his name has Rusty in it, also. We were supposed to "sign on" through a link in the email. Well, we did, but for the password, we just wrote "stupid". The link took us right to ebay and showed us a bunch of auctions my husband was supposed to have been bidding on. All the ID's were names with "Rusty" in them.

It has definately gotten much worse since July. I figure if I just ignore everything from ebay, that if there is a problem, they will simply shut down my access to my account. I figure it's a small price to pay to avoid being scammed.
Anyone have ebay actually stop auctions because current information may be inaccurate?

I've only gotten a couple of those, but have been bombarded with the phoney Microsoft ones. Like they would email you updates!
