It's neat! Is it lucite?

Simichrome will help with the scratches.

Lucite is like plexiglas and was popular for lamps. Other than that I dunno, it just looks like lucite to me.

When I check ebay and search on lucite lamp, most have lucite and acrylic in the title.

There is plastic info here.

It does remind me alot of plexiglas ....it has a grainy cut side where they cut the squares.I'm gonna put both in the title the worst that can happen is I get a bunch of e-mails telling what it is.lol which is what I want anyways.....Thanks everyone !!

That one is Beautiful Kiara !! I love it...I listed mine for 4.99 lol cause of all the scratches ...if it gets a bid i'll be happy....I'm thinking it will look good to people that like the retro look.If not I'll throw it in the yard sale box.

I agree with Tomwiii, it looks exactly like a high school shop project. If it were in great condition it would have some good value but with the scratches and the cord in need of repair and a sizable s/h to mail it I think I would not have listed it or bought it in the first place. I see the other Lucite lamp sold for good money but it was perfect and more elaborate in design.

Good luck!

I really dig it! There is a great scratch remover on the market. It's called Novus Plastic Polish. I have the #2 grade for fine scratches. Picked up an 8 oz. bottle at the Container Store for $4.50 and it's saved my butt! I've used it on a bunch of things and had the prices double. It doesn't take much to remove the scratches, I still have quite a bit left in the bottle.

AuctionAce, you saw my link to the other lamp so now I know I'm not really on "ignore". LOL

Actually if you look at completed auctions for lucite lamps you will find some that many would consider ugly yet they bring lots of money.

Something for all of us to look for next time we're out buying. Most buyers paying those prices don't worry about the shipping fee.
