Howdy, y'all. What I mean by my subject line is, do people in Japan have auctions sites they seem to prefer over eBay? Is there a Japanese version of eBay? I ask this because I sometimes sell products that I feel would be of great interest to bidders from Japan, but in all the years I've sold on eBay, I think I've only had one or two packages actually ship to Japan.

Any info is appreciated.

Ebay Japan has been closed for awhile. If you know someone the can list in Japanese you might want to try the Yahoo Japan auctions. Japan is the one place where Yahoo auctions ruled the roost.

Japanese bidders can view your standard ebay auctions at tje regular site if they wish.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

Anyone in the entire world can see e bay and your stuff. There are no borders. Japanese buy from me all the time. Germans too! and any other country. That use to confuse me too. Kind of like specifically signing into e bay motors. You don't NEED to sign in there to look at auto realted stuff. Just search Ford, by not signing in there however you will get ANYTHING that says Ford. toys etc. signing in at E bay Motors sizes down your search.

Believe me if you have what the Japanese want they are l$$king at it and bidding on it.
1.Potential Buyers, NEED to !. BEFORE Bidding. Thank you.
2.NPB's (buyers?) have No rights,, Posting. After the fact lies. BLOCKED by e bay. Upon final filing of NPB.
3.Naru's . Soooo, LONG! after 3,,,, DIFFERENT, sellers file NPB's. Negs do Nothing to NARU them. filing for your PARTIAL fees back DOES.
4.A current bidders Geographical location i.e. STATE/ZIP/CITY needs to be known California cool Shades.
5.E bay need to ENHANCE their F/B System. A Cooling period. like the 20 days of HOOPS on NPB's. Many give up. works 4 e bay. They keep $K of dollars. [] trade makes even MORE $.

Yes, and they bid even if you have US only. But I have accepted the winning bids because they will pay with Bidpay and are terribly reliable and bid higher than Americans on certain items - probably due to their high cost of living and limited supply of many items.

Most of the Japanese use Yahoo-Japan that is very popular over there with millions of listed items. So popular that ebay shut down it's tiny ebay-Japan a while back. Many Japanese buyers use the main ebay site and those buyers are generally considered extremely courteous and reliable in paying for their purchases.

Much agree with auctionACE.

I have sold several items to buyers in Japan. All golf and golf togs related. The most polite (although at times broken English) and honest folks you can find. Wish I had more like them.

I agree -- my Japanese bidders are the BESTEST!

CNBC: "Unless the economy adds at least 2.3 million jobs by the end of the year, Bush will go down as the first president since Hoover to preside over a four-year term in which total employment fell."

Every once in awhile I get some camping related items that I know are in great demand in Japan. I check the international box when I create the listing (I normally ship to U.S. only) and I schedule the auction to launch at 2:00A.M. Pacific time which is 7:00 P.M. in Japan. If you try this, be careful on anything other than 7 day auctions. You don't want it to end between 1 and 5 a.m. Pacific time on a Friday when Ebay and Vendio are down for maintenance. I just wish all my customers were as polite and honorable towards their obligations as the the Japanese are. I'll sell to them anytime.

The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.
