Two in a row now. They just made up their own shipping prices. Yes, my settings don't allow them to do so, however, they are going directly to Paypal and entering everything manually including their altered shipping fees.
Both were only $5.00 S/H for Priority Mail with DC, but one changed it to $2.75 and the other to $3.50.
I'm sure they do it on purpose to see if they can get away with it. How else do you explain their totals? Obviously, neither payment would even cover the 1 pound Priority Mail rate of $3.85, let alone the 2 pound Priority rate which both items fall under.
Any suggestions in handling these morons? I refunded the full payments and emailed them about their "error", telling them they had to resend payment in order to get their item.

Sounds like someone trying to get away with something in hopes you won't notice. It's like someone handing you back $5 too much for change - do you mention the error or do you just keep it? Hummmm...Maybe if I change the shipping amount on your invoice, you may be such a busy person...you won't notice the sneaky error.

Send them an email thanking them for paying for the auction and your handling fee, and requesting $5.00(or more) for the postage. They will contact you to straighten it out.

Well, this has happend to me also within the last two weeks,......One was 3.50 shipping, well he decided that 2.25 would cover shipping and net me a nice little profit he told me.
Well I told him shipping is 3.50 if you want to receive your items, and how did you come up with this figure???? 2.25.....just to ship media cost 2.75, then I put tracking, and my materials, So after a few emails he decided 3.50 would be good, but told me to go buy an ...."Ice Cream Cone" with my profit......lmao
My Other guy said I don't live that far from you so I figured shipping should be cheaper.
I said, well that can be arranged if I unpack your item and take the maps and just put them in a legal size envelope ...then u just need to send me 1.00.........otherwise shipping is 2.50. I leave the choice up to you..........His Reply.....OHHHHH! NOOOO, please leave it how you have it packed I will send the 2.50.
In both cases I had to return there payment with paypal until they agreed to pay the proper amount, and until then they dont get there item shipped, and if 10 days passes, I will file for NPB, or Never sent shipping money, so either way I don't really worry. If they like to play games it is simple, don't ship till they send the proper amount.

I've had that happen a few times also. I just refund their full PayPal amount & give them the correct amount. But today, I got an email from an international winning bidder, who decided on his own that the book should fit in a global envelope & cost $9.00 to ship to New Zealand! So I replied that we do not ship books in envelopes & he had 3 choices - pay for air letter post, pay for surface mail or retract his bid. So, I'll wait and see what he does. What is up with these people making up their own shipping amounts!
