eBay is enhancing the Item Page (the listing page, which you see if
you click on an auction title) this week. eBay significantly
re-designed the page last summer, and member feedback included serious
criticisms of the new design. eBay addressed some concerns
immediately, and this week's changes promise to address additional
member concerns.
Some of the enhancements include: prominent shipping region (the
regions to which a seller will ship will be displayed above the item
description); improved confirmation screens (separate pages for
Bidding and Buy It Now confirmation will be implemented to make them
load faster); enhanced bid history (the email address and location of
the high bidder will be available to the seller from the Bid History
page); start time (the time the listing was started will be indicated
at the top of the item page); a larger font; a printer-friendly mode;
and an updated "email this item to a friend" feature (this will be
updated to be more consistent with other forms on the site, and will
remain in its current location).

AHHHHHH Not really, Well about half. They put a zip code back in the bid history but AFTER the auction ENDS .
I got right on the keyboard and shot a letter off to e bay.
LOW and BEHOLD I cannot believe I got a reply from a SELLER ebay agent. Yes! A real e bay employee who is ACTUALLY a seller himself. He Understands exactly what I am talking about.
I did NOT get a canned response. His reply was extremely personal. He is on it. If this gets through e bays channels you will see the STATE/Country the CURRENT bidders are from. Hence, No Overseas buyers please,,Australia? poof! killed bid and blocked! NO SHIPPING! MUST PICK UP! California seller New york Bidder! poof! killed bid and blocked!

You can already see the country if you click on the Feedback number (it is on the upper right side of the member feedback page)..so they have it almost right

Neglus,,,,,,I went your route and looked. I got lucky, one of my auctions has a bidder from Japan. So location says, Japan. Now,,,,doing the same thing what do we get when it's a bid from right here in America? Location,,,United States! That is useless has no useful Value, TEXAS, NEW YORK, California , States have value....A usable location. Useless on e bay anyway. Any place else, WERE #1.!

I hear ya Jack (for my postcards it makes no difference if they live in Timbuktu or Peoria as long as they pay the shipping differential)...I can understand the importance of knowing that info for other sellers! Maybe eBay only "half heard" you!

I must be kicking up some dust, they just sent me a Questionare. Thy WILL be done,,,,I don't quit! No matter what ACE says. I like to think of myself as part of the solution. Some just ho hum along and lurk others AUCTIONS! Then they do naughty little things like have 1 of 23 exact same auctions killed. Powersellers has heard from me on that too.

I have had quite a few international bidders lately that give shipping addresses in the US when they pay. (I ship worldwide too)
It might be worth emailing them if there is time to check.
