that the owners/makers/companies bid on stuff they see on ebay because they want their products to seem popular or hot????
Got this guy bidding on one of my items. Looked him up and he bids up a storm on all the same product, but hardly ever wins. A one bid wonder maybe? I dont know, just occured to me maybe he is a company advertising sales rep? And then I thought about this pottery I was selling and thought, if I was the one 'creating' it, and nobody bid on it on ebay...would I feel bad, or embarassed? lol....
just some thoughts at 3:00 am here! (remember that ha-ha)

Sure 'nough did. That's why when I'm 75, my brain will still be functioning normally. All those years of un-use! Ha!!!!
Actually, I do think. Too much so. I think myself into insomnia on a nightly basis. It's been four years since I've slept through an entire night and I've run out of ideas!
BTW, I have an IQ of 125 (although I was tested back in 1975 so I may have killed some brains cells since then thus lowering it). Not bad for a blond.

Insomnia is a serious issue and I don't pretend to have the answers.
There are some things that have helped me sleep, though. And as I get older I have more sleep interruptions and more trouble getting back to sleep.
You know to clear away all other distractions from the bedroom (including that cute guy you just brought home). No TV, no books, no magazines, no computers, especially no eBay stuff. Dark or dimly lit room, cool ambient temperature.
You're lying on your back with your arms slightly away from your body, not touching. Legs slightly separated. Now visualize the top of your head and watch as an opaque curtain comes down over it. The curtain comes down to cover your neck, shoulders, etc, slowly, slowly. Don't get distracted. By the time it reaches your feet you may be asleep.
I was taught this in grade school many (many) years ago.
If you must get up in the middle of the night, don't turn any lights on. I have nightlights scattered throughout the house and I navigate with one eye closed. Do what you need to, then back to bed. No thinking allowed.
It may help to experiment with textures that feel good. Someone I know sleeps with flannel sheets all year round because he loves the feel. I like high thread count cotton sheets (though you have to try the "hand" of the fabric before you buy). Sometimes putting an extra blanket on provides something...maybe an unconscious feeling of security.
One last notion. I used to read two newspapers and 6 news magazines a week because they were all delivered free to our workplace. Then I'd find myself staring at the ceiling at 1 am, scared out of my wits. I stopped that, stopped watching TV and listening to news radio, and the change was immediate.

Thanks, fluffy. I'll give your suggestions a try. I've even tried lavendar but I can't stand the smell of it. Instead of relaxing me, it just makes my stomach turn. I do agree with cooler temps at night. Last night someone turned the heat up and I woke up this morning all sweaty. Had a fitful night. No, it's not what you think. The cute guy I brought home last night fell asleep on the couch. LOL!
Edited to add: Sleep aids do no good with me. They have the opposite effect. Nightquil even keeps me up. I get the jitters from sleep aids. I once had to have an IV of benedryl for fire aunt bites I was allergic to. The nurse told me I'd be quite sleepy for a couple of days. Ha! I was all wound up that night and ended up going out.
