If you pay bidpay via a credit card and you don't get the widget or the widget is not as described can you do a chargeback?

No, you cannot do a chargeback but it is not for the reason that Stop mentions. You purchased a money order from BidPay which they delivered and via canceled copy can prove was recieved. That ends their liability.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

fenix03 is right. All they sell is the money order, nothing else. If you do not get your goods then you will have to file a police report and one with the U.SP.S. as it would come under mail fraud.

BidPay is best for the seller. It stops the FRAUD from a few buyers. It also cost the buyer a couple bucks to use no charge to the sellers.

Only duing Christmas when they got slammed and the rampant fraud at the time made them put in extra security measures. Usually a money order is in the mail within 24 hours of end of auction.

No it don't. I accept them all the time, mostly from international bidders and I have my payment usually in 3-4 days of the confirmation e-mail.

No matter how you pay if you don't get the item (and you sent payment via the US mail) you need to file a Mail Fraud charge.

but it takes a long time for that money order to arrive.

Delivery time to far off Australia/NZ for for MOs sent using BidPay or PayingFast is around 10 business days, and most sellers will ship on email confirmation...
