Looking for information on shipping. Which is better based on weight of 5+ pounds- UPS or Postal?

It is staying in US but seeing the price differences on the sites was wondering what would be a better choice.

Thanks

Ron

If you don't have a daily pickup account with UPS, Fedex will be cheaper. (Much better too in my opinion)

stopwhining is right.

Media mail for a book between 4 and 5 pounds would be $3.10.

If it's between 5 and 6 pounds it would be $3.52 media mail.

The only problem is media mail can be a bit slow.

Hi Ron,

Here are some rates for media mail.

Media Mail Rates

Weight not over (pounds) Rate
5 $3.10
6 3.52
7 3.94

Seven pounds FedEx would be around $8.50.

Hope this helps...

Ron: You might want to pick up a price folder from your p.o. I have one, several folds, sturdy paper, which I refer to when listing. It has the 1st class, priority rates, media mail rates, etc. etc. That won't help you with UPS and Fedex, but media mail is definitely the way to go for books and related items. ~Adele

media mail sometimes can be just as fast as first class mail, the dates you want to avoid is when they send out ss checks, they seem to drop everything going media or bulk so they can deliver ss checks.
