I had a buyer from Italy who paid me using Bidpay. He never received the book and eventually(3mo)I got the book back. He now wants me to refund him thru Paypal. I do not have a Paypal account or have ever used Paypal. If I refund him thru Paypal will I have to pay a fee? What about the fee for converting money? I don't want to pay any fees as the problem about the delivery to him was his fault. Do I use the Auction# for the book even though he paid me originally with Bidpay. Need help!!!

Hi Thanks for that good news - what about the conversion fees - does he pay those also? Even if I use a credit card? Do I have to have an auction#? Sorry I am so uninformed.

it is really up to him to worry about getting it converted to euro.
paypal will ask you what is the payment for-aution,non auction,goods ,etc,you can go into paypal and it will ask you as you move along.
you can send and receive money outside ebay as goods or service.
but i dont know how you can send money if you are not registered with paypal.first you have to register.

Thank you so much. I guess I will register. I had looked at it earlier but wanted this info before I registered. I guess from reading here so much I was worried I would get hit with some fees no matter what they say.

Stone...My thoughts exactly. Email him and tell him to send the proper amount for reshipping via Bidpay, along with valid shipping instructions this time. If he still insists on a refund, send him a personal check.

she did not say she is refunding book plus shipping or just book only.

I am refunding because I got the book back from Italy 3 months later. He paid me through Bidpay and I used the name and address supplied by Bidpay. He never received the book. The price was 56.00 for the book and the shipping was 22.00. During the 3 months I received many many e-mails from him wanting his money back (including the shipping)and accusing me of never sending the book(the usual stuff). I refused to refund. After I received the book back I offered to refund just the price of the book. He had me take pictures of the returned package with postal labels all over it saying wrong address. But I had verified the address and it was correct. But it turns out the name given to me by Bidpay was just his first name. I personally don't think that would keep a package from being delivered but he blames Bidpay for this problem so he refuses to accept Bidpay. He insists I do Paypal. I am so tired of dealing with him.
