Welllllll BOTH cars broke down on the same day, just had to take a taxi home, everyone I knew I called on the cell was out on this beautiful Sunday......

so not getting these fixed in the next day. A rental car for him, he's GOT to go into the office.

So... What is the deal? I have used Endicia, but have used the 'click & ship' only to print some postage... I see that they have a link then that asks something like 'would you like to have that picked up?'

So anyone have their packages picked up? Hows this work? Is it your regular mailperson that does this, or something seperate? Please tell me its NOT my mailman, cuz he gets grouchy sometimes!

Anyone? desparete here!
Thanks!

Thanks Cheryl

It would be my mailman ...... yikes

stop-$12.50 is 'pick up on demand', I read that from Cheryls link. I guess you can pick a timeframe for them to pick up, thus the cost

darn, I didn't want my mailman to do it, but if I have to.......AND there is never a set time for when he comes either, so I'll have to be on the look out for the guy all day......

for 2 cars to break down on the same day, gotta be murphys law, and they are not old cars

thanks!

I live outside of Philly on the Jersey side. The office I work out of is doing business with the post office directly so I was able to cut a deal with them. I do not have to pay the $12.50 anymore. I love it. NO more going to the PO which is such a PITA.

kisses.

I have not used it directly as I have mail delivery to my mobil home. I know that if you use either click & ship or PayPal you can have it picked free. If my mail person doesn't get it, I'm only a mile from a substation, so no big deal. Either way I can walk in, drop off the pkgs & walk out w/o standing in line for 20 min.

You will be lucky if the free pickup is available in your area.
When they first started it, I tried every zipcode I knew in they area and they all say not available there.

It very well could be your carrier. But, chances are he won't be doing it during his regular rounds. Mine comes with her truck prior to her rounds. You can designate where the packages will be (i.e., front porch) so that your carrier won't have to come to your door.

Hi
I tried doing the free pick-up through the computer and I received a confirmation back saying they received my request. The next day I waited till 3:30 and no pick up service came so I called the number they gave me and no one picked up the phone.

I called my local Post Office and told him what happened, he checked on his computer and said, "no request for pick up is recorded".........well he send someone out within 15mins which was great. But since then I call for pick up and pay $12.00, but when I have a couple of light items inbetween regular pick up I leave a note on the mail box for my mailman to ring my bell, saying I have packages going out.

I use Stamps.com and for Me it has been working out great, I even print my sheet of stamps so my trips to the Post Office, (which I hate).......is only when I have International packages to ship.

Thanks all. Got a rental car, and he'll drop them off at the P.O.
But! I still may give them a try at some point

JACK LOL! Ok, gotta a toyota, but he already put that up on blocks in the garage. Now, the other one though, I guess it is older But he got rid of his SUV, and FLEW from Seattle to LA to get this one!!! (hey, MEN I just don't know) its a .... get this..... '95 Taurus SHO you know what that is? (I didn't when he first found it) There's even a 'SHO club'!! They say its 'rare' but I don't know! Esp. being a taurus in the first place but he paid IMO too much, and going all that way to get it? Well, he believes its a fuel pump, but he's having it towed to a mechanic. It totally froze up, and on a busy street!!! and coasted the dang thing into a gas station (thank God there was one right there)

So Jack, he sat here last night and drank that Three Buck Chuck after all that.
(He really did, he really likes the stuff now, thank you for mentioning it here )

OH, and to make this 'ebay related' WHILE the SHO was still running this weekend, we went to an estate sale, and WHAT? they had bottles of wine they were selling!! and guess what was in the mix?? Yeah 'Charles Shaw' or better known as 2 buck Chuck can you believe that??? we left

The Taurus SHO has a Yamaha engine in it so you can blame all your troubles on the Japanese

See, I didn't know it had that engine in it, actually? I don't know much about it, its HIS I do know, I think! the SHO means Super High Output, but could be wrong

Are they really that 'rare' or limited? He is in LOVE with it...

SHO stands for "Some How Orother" which means it will ususally go. Just kidding!! Yes, it does have a Yamaha V-6 with a blower & will go like a bat out of hades. They were only made for about 3 yrs & maybe not rare, but scarce. Supposedly a very reliable engine.

LOL sanmar! Yes, I guess its quick, I don't drive it, only HE does and he likes to push it on the freeway

.......well, now we are finding out how reliable the engine is.......

I shouldn't laugh, cuz he is practically crying over it.... and he does usually fix cars himself, but thought this car 'deserved' to go to the mechanics........ I don't want to see the bill, or the towing bill .. or the rental car bill or the.................. ugh.........

I just had 12 items picked up today. I did have a mishap one time, but I noticed that for some reason the website didn't take me through all the steps. If you don't get the step where you state how many packages are going and their approx. weight, your request did not go through.

I feel your pain NeartheSea.
I dropped off my daughter's car to get repaired and went across the way to have some dinner before picking up daughter #2 and came out and my car wouldn't start. Dead starter. Towed it across to the service dept.

Two cars down for 3 days. Both cars had to wait for parts for 2 days. My car is 12 years old. I guess I'm lucky they still make parts for it....

Got both back and 5 days later my alternator died. Service guy says look on the bright side - this alternator comes with a life of your car guarantee. You'll never have to buy another one. Oh, yeah. I feel so much better now. NOT!

Had hubby schlepp the packages to the post office. Now he doesn't complain about the extra vehicle anymore.....LOL
