Very creative guy. I can see why he got the marriage proposals.

Too funny... I just sent it to four people. Couldn't resist... I love the part about the hits and the odometer on his old beater truck.

What do you suppose the FVF's will be on this one?

DOn't know what the bid was at when you all looked, but at 2:45 AM there were well over 200 bids and the high bid was $99,999,999 - certainly a novel way to get even for five years of misery.

And now you see the fall out of a too much creativity - the freaks come nou in droves and good people end up with problems like this. This afternoon bidding was at $1000

Wow ... this auctions is getting about 100 hits per second! ... I would think this must have been on national news or something!

And take a look at the long list of bid cancellations ...

what a headache for the seller ... reminds me of that sailor guy that was selling his ex's beanie babies not long ago ...

this wedding dress guy will hopefully get a sincere auction winner, OR he'll have to re-do the auction with preapproved bidders.

Wow!
I looked at it last night when it was 99,000,000 (or therabouts). Just checked it again and it was down to $300,000. I hit refresh a few times over a span of maybe 15 seconds and it leapt back up to $500,000.
The "administrators" and the seller aren't going to keep up with this, lol. The bids are getting entered alot quicker than the bid cancellations.

hmph! ebay let him edit the auction after the 12 hour deadline. he added more to the description and changed it to only pre approved bidders now.

suppose Meg called him personally after it aired on the Today show?

What I don't understand is the high number of administrative cancellations. The only time I've ever seen this type of bid cancellation was when Ebay would NARU a bidder and cancel all his bids. These people who have had their bids cancelled by Ebay in this auction are still registered for the most part. Any idea how and why they are picking certain bids to cancel?

I'll bet most people missed this line way down at the bottom:

Buyer pays shipping and handling. Sale is final. Marriage isn't.

All in all, a lot of fun to watch. I do surely hope he gets paid. Will be interesting to see what feedback is left.

My take on the administrative cancellations is he typed that in. There are wording differences and typos in quite a few of them.

Just a guess ...

Jeez ... there was even a mention of it just now on our dinky Akron, Ohio tv channel ... well... we shall see ...

i'm pretty sure ebay was fielding a lot of the cancellations early this morning when it kept jumping up into the million and hundreds of thousands ... i picture a huge oval table of ebay employees trying to contact the bidders by phone to see if they were serious bidders or not.

Have you read the winner's "about me" page?

He's claiming he didn't bid on it....

In regards to the wedding dress, I have some sick friend or some practical joker coworker that decided to bid on this and splash my name over national TV. Please disregard this fact, I am a poor starving college student who cant even afford my own rent!

It looks like the seller is going to get screwed on this one.
