No kidding! I received an email from a spoof Paypal site yesterday along the same lines. " Dear Paypal Customer, Your account has been restricted until you verify your information by clicking on the link below" I sent it to spoof@paypal and they replied already that this was not sent by them. (no kidding) Anytime you have a "Dear Ebay customer or Dear Paypal customer" it is not from them. Ebay and Paypal will alway address you by your name.
These spoof sites are becoming scary as Paypal and Ebay send notices that have clickable links.
I just hope we can keep on our toes and not reply to the spoof sites, as they are getting more genuine looking every day.
(edited because I can't spell)

I've been gettng these "TKO" notices for a couple of weeks.
I read these boards daily, and I've never heard of a "real TKO" notice.
Is there such a term in use with the real eBay?

Update Your Account Information Within 24 Hours
Valued eBay Member,
You (or someone else) entered three times wrong the password to log in with your eBay ID.
According to our site policy you will have to confirm that you are the real owner of the eBay account by completing the following form or else your account will be suspended within 24 hours for investigations.
Never share your eBay password to anyone!
Establish your proof of identity with ID Verify (free of charge) - an easy way to help others trust you as their trading partner. The process takes about 5 minutes to complete and involves updating your eBay information. When you're successfully verified, you will receive an ID Verify icon in your feedback profile. Currently, the service is only available to residents of the United States and U.S. territories (Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands and Guam.)
Please double check before you click Submit button.
The scary thing is that SpamCop couldn't track down the IP number......it finally said something like report to abuse@hotmail. Normally when I run one of these through there it will come up with about 8 "report to" but this only had hotmail and themselves.

Received an email from spoof and yes it is a spoof. I don't understand if I can't bid or buy what good are these emails. They just don't seem as knowledgeable as the previous ones we use to get.
I like the part where it says free of Charge in your letter.

I wish something could be done about this? This what got me in trouble with ebay a few months ago. I was getting email about my card expiring and they were but I didn't pay any attention to this because of all the junk stuff I get.

I also have received the same message as glassgrl "about someone trying to access my account 3 times and not having the correct password.
Actually I have received this same one several times in the last month & half. It alarmed me the first time, but I remembered reading about this kind of stuff happening, so I forwarded all of them to ebay. I was very relieved to hear back from ebay the same day as I forwarded them each time, that it is spoof mail, and my account is fine.
These type of messages are coming more frequently it seems. The stupid &(JJT())&^^ that are sending them must be getting desperate or something! I sure would like to see them strung up from their toes and let all of us use them for dart boards. Oops, maybe I shouldn't say that here!
Maybe I'm a little dumb on this one, but have you heard of what those jokers do with the info they get from folks that do email their info to them? I know they can cause havoc with your account at ebay, but haven't heard about anything else they do with it.
Anyway hope they catch them, and thank goodness for this board, so we can share info like this to help each other out.

e bay can do NOTHING and they basically told me such when I basically demanded they give me a human response with times and dates and names of Culprits. They did nothing but warn me to be careful about viruses and where I could get FREE check ups.
I told them I was not going to waste anymore time forwarding this kind of Bogus stuff If they were doing nothing to stop it.
I don't bother anymore.

What can they do to stop it? It is human nature to harvest emails to further their pocket book and that what these unhumans are trying to do. Evidently someone must answer but here on Vendio we are smart and don't fall for that stuff. Mine was for bidding and buying and I knew that it couldn't be me because I have bid on just a few items and won 4 since January. Just send the email to them and let them take care of it. they must have someone 24/7 as I got a really quick reply.

Funny thing. I am even receiving that e-mail in my private e-mail box. I don't even have an ebay account with that one.
