I just received a voice mail message from eBay. Their "eBay's Seller Outreach team" wants to talk with me.
I had to go to a website and schedule a time for eBay to call me back.
They say I"m one of the top sellers, I find it hard to believe, yes I have over 17000 fb-rating but I find it hard to believe $$$ wise I even am in the top million of eBay users. I"m wondering "what did I do?" or "what auction of mine is about to get cancelled". I just checked and I didn't have anything cancelled....
Does anyone else get as Nervous as I do when "eBay wants to talk to You"......
Anyone else have talked with the "eBay's Seller Outreach team"? what is it about???

Billiam ... they will probably try to upsell you to use some of their 'extras' to help you 'grow your business' [read, they want more of your money]
banners, stores, etc. etc.
Roadsmith says, "Prune THIS!" ... so, you can tell ebay, "Outreach THIS!" lol

I can only WISH they would call ME! I'd give e'm an earful! They would BLOCK me from their call list for sure. YUP, they want to SELL you on MORE worthless services.
Try the BOLD,,,,,71% more sales. Use the wortless .50 additional description line. Which does NOTHING to increase your sales...
List in a second cat. That gets e'm the EXTRA bucks!

Well I already use pay the $0.50 for the additional description and I always list the same items in more than one catagory.
I have found the additional description does help, but no where NEAR 71%!!! Maybe 15-20% at best.
I won't use their listing services other than TurboLister, I will not use their other tracking systems, and I never give them money for photos (I have my who hosting account for that!) About the only thing left would be to open an eBay store which I've been thinking about but just didn't do yet.....

I think Ebay is calling or visiting everyone
I'm nowhere near a top seller and I had a call from the "category rep" who wanted to know if I needed any help in deciding which categories to list my items?
I sell postcards. I told her it was pretty cut and dried. Texas postcard goes in Postcards, Texas.
I was so flustered I forgot to even tell her "and please don't even think about going to item specifics for these"!
Then, I got a follow up email asking if all my questions had been answered.
I replied to it stating I didn't have any at that time, but now I was wondering if I had been doing something wrong or why they called? I never received an answer to that email so I guess my name was already scratched off the "to do" list

Umm perhaps they want to see if there is anything they can do to help you? If you are happy you are likely to list more and stick around longer. I think it is a positive sign that they are listening to the ebay sellers.
I just updated my new website - give me your feedback on it. http://gotflag.com

They called me a couple of weeks ago (Seller's Outreach Program). The rep was very nice and I spent a few minutes on the phone. She didn't have a whole lot of fresh info but I did get a couple of questions answered.

It's ebays way of getting something for FREE.
Many companies, when they want to get ideas from the public about their products put together FOCUS GROUPS. People are screened in advance to see if there is an interest in their product and then you all sit in a room for two hours while a representative shows you ads and plays videos, or demonstrates the product, etc.. Then, the group give feedback (ashonestly as possible) to the moderator. The sessions are usually taped and videotaped for research purposes. ANd, at the end of the focus group, participants get an "honorarium"; $75. - $300. each depending on how difficult it is to get people for that group.
Here, ebay is going to pick your brain about EBAY's services, etc and not give you anything in return. They once called my wife and when she asked about the "honorarium" she was told that there was none; it was on a "volunteer basis". I bet you can guess what my wife's answer was.
