Are this old? Gees, Am I tired or what? I guess I should have taken a 3 day rest instead of using it to work. sorry about the title. It SHOULD say: Are THESE old? Oh well.

I don't usually deal in this stuff, I am going through boxes again. I have two barbies. Both say Barbie 1966 Mattel etc on them. are they really from 1966 or is that just when they started making them? Take a look and please tell me what you think?

These are definitely later than 1966. Mattel didn't bring in the "straight ahead" eyes until 1971. The bendable arms came in in the 70's, too. Also, the hair on the dolls strikes me as more recent--maybe the 80's

Well, See! That's why I asked! I have never dealt with these stupid dolls before. So I should donate 'em or toss em, right? I have the clothes so maybe I just give the entire bunch of stuff away

I would not have known this to tell you a week ago but... list them. Don't look for high prices but the will sell to people that make one of a kind dolls.

Here's an example of what they can be made into

My next site build is going to be for someone that does these - some of the work and the prices blew me away.

Wow, fenix ... those are amazing ... what does the OOAK stand for (in the titles)?

Estate -- It stands for "one of a kind".

They are incredible. Very similar to the Berenguer dolls. They sell for incredible amounts too! I'm working on something similar, but not with painting. Mine will be very intricate period style clothing that are crocheted and beaded (with other embellishments). I haven't seen them listed before and I'm wondering if they will sell for an substantial amount. I guess I'll have to finish one and find out.

Now, if only I can find the time ....

WOW! This is wonderful. Thanks so much for sharing the info. Do you think I need to take close ups of the faces or anything? Anything special I need to add to the description?

That I don't knw. What you might want to do is check the purchases of some of the OOAK doll sellers and see what they have bid on and what kind of descriptions are used.

Paloma...What I know about Barbie dolls can fit on a postage stamp. I do know, however, that some of the clothing and accessories can be worth much more than the doll itself, and that's the reason some dolls will bring much more than their twins. If your dolls were amongst many where the clothing may have been switched, you may have a worthless doll, but a goldmine in the clothes. BTW, where ARE the clothes?

I have two daughters, aged 18 and 20 and we have two HUMONGOUS containers full of Barbies and clothes...all dating from mid-1980S to 1995 or thereabouts. WE also have a couple of pink Barbie campers and cars etc.. All totaled I guess I would say that the Barbie stuff occupies at least a 4' square area in my storage room.

I told the girls we have to get rid of THINGS! and more likely than not their children will not want to play with the old Barbies. Do Barbies & paraphanelia that new have any value? They are all in played with condition - I wouldn't even add "gently" played with.

I don't think I want the hassle of listing that stuff unless it would be worthwhile. Maybe I should have the kids get their own seller id and do the research etc .. My inclination is to "goodwill" it.

real old barbies do not have their ears pierced, and their heads look different, and their hairstyles,

all you have to do is type in these key words on ebay," vintage barbie "....

the bodies will usually say 1966 made in china which is common

a tip.....when you see a body with the stamp that says made in indonesia or usa, or japan, then you have rarity

most old barbies will that the ulgy blue eye shade...sorry ladies, mean no respect....

also if you want to score big time...vintage barbie clothes sell real hot, and shoes.....
