I just got a huge bunch of very old postcards and the only thing I know about postcards is that most are worth a dollar. I need to know how best to sell them...in lots according to theme?...date?....maker?...condition?..style?...
Any clues would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Go to the postcards category, look at completed auctions and gauge your methods by how successful sellers did it (singles, groups, etc.). If the completed item count is overwhelming, search there for keywords for postcards you have. This would give you a start.

Thanks Roadsmith! I was planning on doing that, too, but I just got back from the auction where I got these cheap and was too excited to slog through all the PC auctions. I also like your #2 lesson....too true!

I would sort the cards. Large cities are best bulk sold. Small towns should be sold separately. Most important key words that people sort on are, county, nearby town, postmark etc. Avoid adjectives in your title like "look, awsome" etc. They take up title space. Topical cards should be listed by topic ie:artist signed, angels etc. Go into as much detail as possible on 'Real Photo cards. Good Luck

I don't sell postcard lots so I am afraid I can't help much. Unless you have very special and desirable cards (ie: real photos) your estimate of $1/card is pie in the sky pricing...I often buy lots for about 10 cents/card. You may be better off pulling out the good cards and listing them individually and then sell the rest as a lot.
