Granted, I'm relatively new here and though I sell a lot of old toys, I've never done an auction for a model rocket kit until yesterday.
I put up an Estes kit and today got a letter from eBay telling me that they pulled it (which they did) because model rocket kits (and fireworks which are very different in my opinion) are not allowed.
But I am very confused, because I thought I have seen tons of them on eBay.
Can anyone please shed some light or experience on this?

I think the accelerant/fuel was always the issue. If the kit does not come with it, eBay likley just trying to cover their arses. The items may have new legal rules. Already, the fuel cartridges in stores could not be sold to minors. But you are supposed to be at least 18 to bid on Ebay, right? Yeah, right...

You need to specify that there are no igniters or engines with the kit, and that they need to be purchased seperatly by the buyer.

That's correct. I had one pulled a year ago. If you want to try a possible work around, you can try this. I was able to list it, but it was a long time ago. First of all, wait a week or two. Don't put the word "rocket" in the title. I don't remember if I had the word "rocket" in the ad or not. The other thing you can do is put a reasonable "buy it now" & sell it that way. Another popular toy that gets yanked is "Jarts". I have 2 Jarts kits right now, but haven't wanted to mess with the hassle.
Good Luck.

Also, check all other auctions of the same item. It is likely your competition turned you in for explosives. I say it's your turn. Check them out and turn them in. Revenge is sweet
