lol estatesalestuff dang I missed the question but if you were asking about selling gold fillings look up scrap gold on ebay....I sold a gold dental cap that slides over the teeth last year and got a super price for it. Dug it up with a metal detector. I think I got almost triple what the local pawn shop offered for it.

toasted, sounds great! ... yes I found a gold filling in a little plastic case, but I don't know how to weigh or show it, except for photographing it next to a dime?! Is that good enough? ... any hints how I might "present" it on ebay?

Thanks glassgrl ... I didn't mention the big sale, lest I be accused of 'post-spamming' or something like that LOL

1st off, it was awesome to meet our beloved Cheryl Cbleve6525 and her main man Ken (and kiddies TOO) ... her and I had been trying to find the time to meet up for a few months, and it just hadn't happened till this weekend ... I was so happy to meet her finally {hi Cheryl } ... ...

AND, the tag sale itself? It was a 4 day event at my deceased dad-in-law's antique shop ... engineered by a local very-good-30-year-reputation tag sale lady and her crew ... ... well, we think they have never encountered an estate of this item-laden-magnitude before ... they ran their ads in the local big newspapers just one day before the event, and on into the event days, and the 'other' weekly newspapers they ran the ad in, came out between Monday and Thursday of last week, [and the sale was Thurs. thru Sunday] ........ although there were many many hundreds of people attending, it was just so difficult to see everything that was for sale ... there were a total of 6 tents set up in the back yard of the shop, and dozens of card tables with some stuff on it, and the 4-story building still was packed with 'stuff' .... the highest $ sales were on the 2 1800s firearms we had ... ... ... as much as our dear tag sale lady had estimated it might be a 100,000 sale [and she would take 20% & we'd pay for all ads] it only came to a fraction of that in total sales [and we owe our dear patient bro=in-law a lot of moolah out of this estate] ............ so good news and bad news ... bad news is bro-in-law has to continue his saintly patience, and good news is we still have a ton of our 'good stuff' left, as well as the building, that we need to sell ... we realize in retrospect it will take more than one "event" to get it all sold ... more like 4 or 5 events ... husband will consult the Burning Bush and reassess what to do next. .... .... it was exhausting, and fun, and sometimes emotional, and sometimes not so fun. ....

Just too much stuff there ... actually when we walked around the place after the sale was done, we wondered what could possibly be 'gone' cuz it still looked so packed ... but we realize there were SOME things gone .....

THANKS FOR ASKING!!!

Marcia

Hi Marcia,
They usually want to know the gram weight of the filling...I had scales that measured grams ,ounces and pounds ...so if you can weigh it ,it'll prolly do better.A pawn shop will tell you how many grams it is...I'd go and ask them how much they'd give you for it and when they weigh it just ask how many grams it was lol...cheating but it'll get weighed that way. Also put dental scrap gold in your title . Hope it does well !

Thanks toasted ... is just one filling actually worth enough for me to take my time and gasoline to a pawn shop? You got me all curious now. LOL

edited to add, never mind ... I see now with the 'dental scrap gold' search on ebay, that there ARE some comparables ... I had searched 'gold tooth filling' earlier and nothing showed up then. LOL ...

I AintRichYet.
