He should be running three seperate auctions and cross referencing each to the other two. As it is now, it looks like a choice auction. It also smacks of offering to make a sale outside Ebay.

Yes, and it also is illegal to have your email address in your description. It won't take eBay long to find this one if they read this board.

Possibly he's using a patriotic motif because Harleys are made in the US and ridden by many Americans....including my husband.

Where can I find where it says you can't have your e mail address in the description? Last week I could not change my e mail address,,,e bay said I had to WAIT for a 30 days period which luckily up in 5 more days. I asked them on the thier live chat, what can I do in the meantime? they said post your e mail address in the description. so,,,,I did.
Also,,, I have seen 100's with their phone numbers in the auctions. Shoot if one had ANY fear of e bay seeing an e mail transaction well the telephone most certainly ends that problem.

Linking from Your Email Address:
Your email address may be a link that opens an email client or Web form (no links are permitted off of the Web form) for potential bidders to ask questions about the item in that listing. Please note that the link may only be used to enable an email client or Web form. It may not direct a buyer to another Web page that promotes other items you have for sale outside of eBay.

I didn't have to wait before I changed my email address. If you don't have auctions running then you can change it. If you have auctions on you cannot change it as those auctions when they go off will be directed to the old email address not the new one.

For the auction under discussion, it looks like he is posting his e-mail for off-site sales and that isn't allowed.
Otherwise it's okay to have your e-mail address in your description just like the ebay link explains and that's the way I've always done it in my description. Sorry if there was any confusion as to what I meant.

I changed ISP's and the change to the NEW one was even WORSE than the original one. I went through a MONTH of BS with the new one...DSLextreme matter of fact ande told them to take that $250.00 early termination fee and STICK it. So I went to change mail email addresses back to earthlinks and e bay said you have to wait 30 days to be able to use it again. Some changed righ on the spot and the one just would NOT accept. on the 30th day,,,ZAP! it accepted it. Got me.

Then if that is the case why does eBay have the function "Ask the Seller a Question". I understand it to be that you can link to your about me page to your auction and in your about me page you can put your email address. I don't think they have written that plain enough so I will just continue as I have been doing. I see no need to advertise your email address since there is that function Ask the Seller a question.

E bay put the "ask the seller a question function" in there for the non readers to ask questions that are clearly stated in the auctions.

Yuo know like are you sure that is the right amount you are charging for shipping? No I just dreamed up some figure.
Are you positive this blue? It looks blue but I want to be sure.
Do all the other parts that are not listed in the auction come with it?

I have had my email address in my TOS for a long time. It says if you want to pay me with P/P use my email address, [email protected]. Never had a complaint.

If a seller has a website they can have an e-mail address such as [email protected] in their auction description.
They can say to make PP payments to that address or if you have any questions to e-mail them. It’s one way to send buyers to their site as some my go direct to cheaptools.com (not sure if that's a real site) to see what else is for sale.

Yeah this guy is really pushing the envelope here. I had a friend who got her hand slapped for listing in the auction that if they won the auction for this candle they could have their choose of one of four colors? That was not as bad as what this guy is doing.
So it's OK to put your website in your listing but not as a link? Or you can use the link on the second page - right?
