I must have dreamt it, but I *thought* ebay had made a recent change whereas your 'search' would show Auctions/BuyItNows/and/FixedPrice listings, AS WELL AS the eBay "Store" listings.

But it does not.

Instead the 'searcher' has to tab to "Stores" and enter the word, to be able to find the items listed only in the ebay-stores.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. But that is the way it is functioning for me, on a specific item I'm researching.

I do think I remember a recent thread here stating that general searches *would* show store listings, at the end of the other 'regular' listings (if there aren't too many regular listings for that item) ... and that is not the case for the thing I'm looking at ... there are only 2 of the item right now on 'regular ebay', and ONE listed in somebody's "store", but HIS item does NOT show up with a general search of the key word.

ok, ok ... I found a recent thread where glassgrl mentioned she was looking to replace her cell phone, and "remembered to look in 'stores'", and found it there for less than it was 'going' at the auction venue!

Hmmmmmmm.

I guess we *all* need remember to check each; i.e., regular search function, AND the "Stores" tab, since they're apparently functioning as separate 'venues' ... sort of like eBay I, and eBay II. lol

Um, yeah, they always have functioned as separate venues, ever since Stores were created. This is why Stores listings have cheap listing fees.

Search was changed recently to allow *some* Stores results to show up if there were few regular eBay listings that matched the search string.

I have found that the amount of time that the item has been in the ebay store also has some effect on how/if it shows up on the bottom of the search page.

I checked this by doing a search on some of the stuff I had in my store. Stuff over a couple of months old didn't show up in the bottom of the page even when I narrowed it down to where it should have been the only thing showing up. Interesting!

I've been researching this, too, as I'm trying to decide if I want to list certain items in my store or as an auction. I think the way it works, as this was confirmed in an earlier thread on this message board, is if there are 10 auctions or less, then your store listing will come up at the bottom of the screen. Also, if there are say 5 auctions and 5 store listings, the newer store listings come up before the older ones.

playbackfactor.... Not in the case I am 'searching' ... the keyword brings up only TWO ebay 'listings'

Then, I go to "Stores" and type in the same keyword, and there is the one, single, store listing.

That just doesn't make sense to me, (except that it is pointed out that ebay 'store' listings are a lot cheaper fee, so ebay doesn't really 'put those items out there' on their main search site.

That is weird. The only thing that I could thing of is that when you do a STORE search, you are searching titles AND descriptions, as I think that's the way it's defaulted. When you search the auctions you're only searching titles, maybe. Is that the case?
