I have tried everything to get rid of the screen saver and power saver option on my laptop. When I am working on photo's or making a backup cd of photo's, or doing anything that takes more than a couple of minutes without using actual keystrokes, the screen saver comes on and I can't see what is happening. Then, I have to go through the whole log in process again.

I have set the screen saver to NONE -- but the smile screen still comes on.

And, I have set the power saver to NEVER come on. --- but it does after just a couple of minutes of inactivity.

This is a Toshiba Satellite about 1 year old. Anyone know how to make it stay on all the time where the screen is actually visible?

well I have a satellite so I know what you're talking about...only problem is...it's been so long since I've deleted that option that I can't remember what it's called!

anyway...the satellite has two os on it's screensaver. One is windows and the other is Toshiba's own program. I deleted the Toshiba one and mine still works fine.

As best as I could remember I sort of had the same problem. All I could figure out was by having two systems they were working against each other somehow.

edited to add: I UNISTALLED the toshiba desktop/screensaver feature...I didn't just deleted it. Unistalled through Start/Control Panel/Add Remove Programs

Paloma: I have Windows XP Pro.

Glassgirl: I will try that. It is driving me crazy. I can't even save my photo's to CD (which is only about 55 mb at a time) without it going to the screensaver option.

I did turn the powersaver and the screensaver off...or rather put it to Never, on both programs. Toshiba and the Microsoft, but it is still there.

glassgirl - I think that did it!

I would have never thought of deleting the Toshiba power management but I think it worked

Thank you!
