FIRST PLACE:

She sends this IN AN EMAIL:

"I did not complete this purchase, there was no option for colour and therefore did NOT proceed."

RALPHIE replied:

LET ME QUESS YOUR HAIR COLOR!

LOL, I was going to put my bidder up against yours. My genius doesn't get it through his head he needs to pay EXTRA to ship to Japan.

Yes, she sends me an email telling me there's no way to tell me her color choice...

Write her that if you did give her a color choice the auctions would have been ended by eBay since "choice auctions" are not allowed.

HER RESPONSE:

"HI...

Sorry, tried to make the payment by PayPal and still didn't the option to choose colour; so I bought the item from another website.

Sincerely

Delores Deadbeat"

MY RESPONSE:

"Hi!

You just sent me two emails -- within EITHER ONE you could have told me the color you wanted!

Not to mention the fact that PayPal has a box for message information from buyer to the seller -- obviously, you could have easily indicated color choice in that very prominent space.

The only reasonable conclusion is that you never intended to honor your purchase.

eBay charges me (and all sellers) hefty fees to sell, and I will now have to file the appropriate requests with them for a refund of my money that has been wasted by this transaction.

photosensitive:

This was a FIXED-PRICE listing for 2 items & color choice IS allowed:

"Multiple quantity listings (Multiple Item Auction, multiple-item fixed price or store) may offer a choice of color in otherwise identical items. However, the seller must be able to fulfill the entire quantity of every listing in any offered color even if every winning bidder makes exactly the same color selection. It is not permissible to state "The highest bidder gets first choice." Choice listings may not be offered "subject to availability" or request the buyer to contact the seller to see which colors are available or what quantity is available. This exception for choice of color does not apply to single quantity listings."

tomwiii, thanks!! I was just thinking about how to do an auction with several of the same item but different colors. The only problem is I can only use 2 of the 9 that I have because that is the max # of duplicates I have. Phooey!!

And now, of course:

THE PERP BECOMES THE VICTIM:

"You may reach whatever conclusion you wish as to my intention to purchase, I have, however, made my purchase elsewhere and am pleased by my decision. Your further correspondence is unwelcome."

Well, deadbeat, MY correspondence to your worthless ZERO FB deadbeat life is over...eBay's is just about to begin & you can whine & cry to them over the "abuse" you have suffered by NOT honoring yer purchase!

This whole FEES & DEADBEAT thingy is really killing my love affair with feeBay...

Tom - "your love affair with eBay" made me smile. I met eBay in 1998. At first, he was handsome and exciting and treated me like a queen. After a couple of years together, he began to ignore me and I suspected there was someone else. I found out the terrible truth - he was seeing a large, rich woman on the side. Finally, he left me and I'm alone with all our children and no child support!

Jack -

Yes you can list baseball style hats with a choice of embroidered name. Just make sure you say "personalized" or "customized to your specifications" ... something along those lines.

Great link, it's in my favorites. My 12 year old granddaughter, who is crazy about horses, uses Epona as her web ID. That's where "pony" came from. Hmm, this is a bit off subject, huh? You and Ralphie have a super day.

NO! I have had the stupidest bidder yet..

At the end of an auction I sent a notice, with all costs, and then, hear nothing, I sent another and heard nothing.

Finally, the bidder e-mails me and says:
Send me your E-mail address so we can correspond about the widget I bought on eBay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HELLO, STUPID, you just wrote to me at my e-mail address!!!!!!

This is NOT a joke, it actually happened!!!!!!

No,
I have the stuuuppppiiiddest bidder yet. I listed a complete exhaust system for a Harley Davidson FXD. Sucessful bidder emails me after he won the auction. Asks if they will fit a Sportster. I replied that I have no idea, ask his friendly H-D parts counter man, and sent him shipping and total charge for item.
The next day he emailed and told me he wasn't going to pay, as they would not fit his bike. States I should have told him they didn't fit before he bid.

I got a pretty good candidate...

This guy wins a CD from me, actually bids quite a bit on it, then continues to send me emails asking how much shipping would be when of course it's stated clearly in the listing. But, that's common, right? This guy has some sort of spam blocking and I cannot return one single email to him. All of my responses are returned to me undeliverable. I've gone on ebay to leave messages, I've tried two separate emails I have for him and just keep getting everything bounced back. Meanwhile, I get at least 2 emails a day asking for the TOTAL COST! This guy is driving me nuts... I assume that he's really trying to pay for this thing, but he can't be trying that hard if HE WON"T READ THE AD AND JUST PAY ME!!

ARGGHHH!!

That's my candidate...

Here's my stupid customer:

Buys a custom item through our website that takes 6-8 weeks to make and ship (handmade overseas when order is received then ships to the States). This is stated clearly on the product page, on the Order FAQs page, under our shipping link, and on the receipt. After 2 weeks, customer starts emailing multiple emails wanting to know why she hasn't received it yet. We sent her four emails from three different email addresses explaining the shipping time for this special order custom product AND we called the number she gave us and talked to her parents who she lives with. She continued to send emails getting angrier and angrier wanting to know why weren't we contacting her. Yes, she's an AO-HELL customer and too dumb to check her spam folder, even though we make that suggestion on our contact page for when customers don't think they're getting replies from us. Finally, she threatens chargeback. I beat her to the punch and refunded her Paypal payment and cancelled her order. SIX DAYS LATER, she files a chargeback. Yes, the refund was completed. Guess that notice went to her spam folder, too.
