I have 4 very old Japanese prints:

Kiyoharu Kondo- Girls Pointing Painter.
Moronobu Hishikawa- The stage.
Miyakawa Choshun - Seeing the Cherry Blossoms No. 2.
Yuzen Miyazaki entitled Mandarin Ducks.

Know of a good website to research these? I'm currently doing it by print, but it's a royal PIA. Porcelain I can do. Prints are another story altogether!

Try searching Japanese art museums, if there are such places. I know I have some really nice prints but since I can't read the signature I am out of luck.

That's a great idea. Duh, why didn't I think of that? I can't read Japanese signatures either. Fortunately, these prints have tissue paper written in both Japanese and English so I know who did them. They're great prints, but are in urgent need of conservation. Something I know nothing about. I'd rather sell them to someone who can conserve them than hold on to them while they deteriorate.

are they woodblock prints?
If they are original, not restrikes, they are valuable.
condition, edition and artist are all important to woodblock prints.
The Great Wave by Hokusai fetched over 100k at soethby intl auction in London.
i will look up the person who does appraisal after my first cup of coffee.

Stop

I don't think they are woodblocks. The paper is thicker than I've seen on woodblocks. There is tissue paper covering the prints that is in both Japanese and English. The tissue is quite fragile. What's odd is that the prints are not completely glued to the backing. They are glued on the upper most edge and any water marks on the backing are not on the prints (thankfully). Here are pics:

My brother gave these to me and I'm not sure what to do with them.

the later restrikes are on thicker washi papers.
You said there is a thin tissue paper which comes with the print and english/japanese description-they are restrikes for tourists.
The restrikes are often glued/tipped to another piece of paper.
They look like older restrikes and you can sell them on ebay ,woodblock prints sell well as long as they are reasonably priced.
You can start them at 9.99 and watch them get bidded up.

Thanks, stop! 9.99 was exactly what I intended to start them at. I may wait until the school shopping rush is over though. Still, 9.99 for something I paid $0 for is not bad.
