Hi all,

As usual, I'm lost...

I have this old Heisey syrup pitcher. It's about 4 1/2" high.

I've wandered all over eBay and the Internet and can't find the name of the pattern or shape. There are several similar pieces on eBay but they don't flare out at the bottom like mine.

Does this shape have a name?

Tanx,

Lucy

Okay, I did find one with the same shape but they don't have a name in the listing and this one has a silver top. Mine's not silver. Didn't Heisey make blanks other companies used?

The pattern name is Quator #355. That's from one of Gene Florence's pattern glass reference books. I'm not sure what the significance of the number is.

Lucy: hope this will help.

first; you said: "they dont have a name in the listing..."

i presume you are referring to the blank or pattern?
-----
the intaglio refers to the wheel cutting technique of the pattern..yours is etched..i cannot be sure with your image.

----------
and, you said; make blanks other companies used? yes, like tiffin, pairpoint..according to my history, never sold any marked heisey...the blank i found in an old heisey catalog reprint...i am gonna try and send the image.

Thanks all for the help!

I'm getting more confused by the minute. Typical...

Been Googling and searching eBay for Quator and Heisey 355 and all I come up with are sugar bowls and creamers that look like this one:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1024&item=3741631825&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

Cherished, could you possibly post a picture from your book?

Toy, mine is definitely not etched. It's wheel-cut. Yes, I'm trying to find out the name of the blank. I doubt the cutting pattern has a specific name. I wonder if I can find an old Heisey catalog on Google...

okay i take your word, if, it is cut..

-------------------------

now, you mention "heisey 355." this is part of your confusion -dont take that license...it is correctly called "quator #355." the reason i say this is: it is not a heisey name or pattern number..it is an arbitrary catalog name-number given by researchers, to an un-named, but patented item...i show two dates, 1908 and 1915, to 1938...

most important, there are 2 syrups listed in this blank[per the image]...a 24 oz, and a 32 oz. container - no others listed...
..you say your item is 4.5inches tall... refer my earlier image: 7oz...not sure yours would hold 24 ozs. would it???

------------------------------------
quator#355 is panel or flat fluting...yours doesnt appear to have panels....
-------------------------------

----------------------------------------
by the by, lower book i found was 100bucks...nice...no matter what it is..

Thanks, Toy, for posting the pictures. Mine isn't anything like the one shown there.

I don't think it's Quator #355. No flutes or panels and it's not very big. Probably holds maybe 7-8 ounces. The lid does look like the Sanitary Syrup one in the picture.

Anyway, thanks everyone for the help. I guess I'll just list it as a 1920's Heisey Wheel Cut Syrup Pitcher and go from there!

Beautiful pictures along with your good description. Now if every ebay seller could do that we would have no problems.

Obviously Omslucy takes pride in her work.
