We don’t sell many clothing items on eBay, as we just don’t post that many, but we do have a strong women’s clothing line on one of our web sites.
THE ONLY TIME we would steam an item is for photographs, but that is something which occurs every few weeks, when a new color or style is introduced.
Often, some of the women’s clothing items we get in are wrinkled from packing folds. I have been considering the LARGE, professional size “clothing steamer,” which SAM’S has. QUESTION, I have looked into other “professional” size steamers, but the one at SAM’S looks decent enough, and I was wondering if anyone else had used the one sold by Sam’s and if so, what is your experience with it.

For your purposes, any, or most of the commercially available steamers should do fine.
I am not sure about the particular model you are asking about, but if it is in your price range, it sounds like you are right on track. Depending on how "Large" you are referring to, it may be more steamer than you need. We have tried some of the less expensive steamers and they would suffice for the application you described.

Hi
How about free first(Well alright near free)! Turn on the shower with water on HOT. Leave on 4 Min with door closed etc. Turn off water hang garment in shower for 20 min. Usually the wrinkles are GONE. (Helps with smell to).....David
posted on August 21, 2004 09:08:43 PMThanks dacreson I am aware of the "shower" technique, hadn't really thought of it, but not only is it over 100 feet from our shower to the water heater, but I think I would personally use a Professional steamer for our own use once in a while - AND we sell only NEW clothes in plastic packages, so there is no smell involved.
I would only be steaming those items which were being used for photographing, otherwise our stock is kept in sealed plastic bags, but thanks for your "shower," reminder.

gousainc You are probably correct, I'll probably pick one up next time I am at Sam's. Thanks for your response.

I have used many diferent steamers over the years and there is only 1 that I will use.
The Jiffy Steamer is number one and will last for years. I have had several cheaper units and they last only a short time. I use a steaamer every day in my garment business and the money spent on a Jiffy steamer is the best money you will ever spend. Jiffy also has outstanding customer service.

Here is the home model for sale at Amazon.com, which is about half the professional model. I bet the pro model is made better but unless you use it a lot the home would be great.
posted on August 22, 2004 11:53:12 AM Bootclan Thanks for the information and recommendation on the Jiffy Steamer. I just went to their site and was VERY impressed. I did a search on reviews of this item, and found it highly recommended by users of the Jiffy Steamer. Being the OLDEST manufacturer of steamers, also added to my confidence in this maker. Thanks so much for the info!!

paws4God THANKS for the link. I check other prices on the web, and found the Amazon price on a new Jiffy Steamer to be the best PLUS I got FREE shipping.
My search is over, I am ordering the Jiffy Steamer from Amazon, and I deeply appreciate both your and Bootclan’s valuable information and input.

Hi! I must be confused. I thought you all were talking about a steam machine that you pressed the clothes in. Then when PAWS4GOD put in the ad for the Jiffy Steamer, I realized you guys were talking about something else. I was looking for a press type steamer, but maybe I should change my mind.
Do any of you use this press steamer? Or is the Jiffy Steamer the best way to do it?
Hope you don't mind me bringing this up again! Thanks!

We own a clothing store and have used some jiffy steamers for years. One memorable one was so well used that the wheel plate fell off, the hose was patched and the steam head cracked. BUT IT STILL PUMPED OUT THE STEAM!!!! My husband finally got tired of looking at and gave it to the salvation army thrift store.
Another one we have used comes from store supply warehouse.
Once you use one of the steamers that "blow" steam you won't want anything else.

I am REALLY looking forward to the delivery of my Jiffy Steamer. I just KNOW I am going to love it, particularly when doing clothing for photographs - besides our personal items.
AGAIN, THANKS SO MUCH for the info, and direction to the Amazon site which had the best price!
