The other night I decided to check on a NPB to see if they were bidding on other items. They told me they couldn't pay for my item because they lost their credit card. Turns out they were bidding on other items. You could check this guys feedback but the item numbers were grayed out. This guy is in the US. Is this new?

Nope, the grayed out item numbers are too old to pull up. Or at least that is what I have found. I think anything over 60 or is it 90 days is too old.

pmelcher is partially right.
Sometimes the items are still in eBay's database; you just have to enter the auction number in a search window. You have the best chance of finding the most recent auctions that are grayed out, of course.

Thanks for clearing that up. For some reason the numbers look different than before. On my monitor they are really grey.

Well, you know that nasty ol' Uncle eBay. He's always mucking with colors and fonts and stuff. Seems like every day I have to find a way to continue doing something that Uncle eBay has just broken.
Oh, did anyone notice that in the new-and-unimproved Search you can no longer select "all on one page" for your results? I have a way around that, if anyone's interested. Or even if anyone isn't.
You choose whatever number of rows eBay will give you (let's say 200) and press Search. When the listing comes up, notice that the last part of the URL is:
rows=200
Change that to:
rows=0
Hit Return, and now they're all on one page.
Thank you, thank you, I'll be appearing here for the next four nights.

Hey cool about the all on one page. Thank you for reminding me about the greyed out ones, I did not have that quite right!
